Gabriel came down the steps in time to see Afton and Megan escorting three figures into the front sitting room. Elijah was carrying a colorful box with a snake on the cover. Megan and her friends situated themselves around the coffee table and Megan urged Afton to join in which he eventually did. Megan grabbed the box as Gabriel sat down next to her.
All attention was on Megan as she looked at the box. Megan turned toward Gabriel. "You should be quite good at this game." She told her husband.
"Why is that?" Gabriel asked, feeling like he had stumbled into a trap.
"This is a game for liars, the better liar you are, the more successful you will be in this game." Megan read from the back. Caden and Elijah glanced at Gabriel then at each other uncomfortably. Afton gave him an I told you so look, and Angelina raised an eyebrow at Megan.
Megan handed the box to Elijah who was their gamekeeper, to set up and tell everyone the instructions and rules. Only then did Megan realize their trays of wine and snacks had arrived. She had both Afton and Gabriel open a bottle of wine and she started pouring heavy handed glasses and passing snacks out to various positions on the table before whispering thanks to Mim.
A few minutes later they all settled in to play the game and drink a lot of wine. Soon they were laughing at the extreme antics the liars would go to so they could disprove something they all knew to be true. The longer they played the more ridiculous the antics became. Each person got a chance to be the liar, and she was right, Gabriel was good at it but somewhat surprisingly to her, Afton was the best liar. She was fairly certain he could convince someone their pants were on fire in a swimming pool. Two hours later they all were gamed out and well on the way to drunk.
Megan looked at her group of friends. "Who drove here tonight?"
Elijah made a gasp of surprise. "We brought my truck. I just remembered; I'm supposed to be the designated driver."
Megan laughed at her friends. "Why do you bother? He always forgets."
"I don't like to be left out." Elijah slurred with a whine. "Give me an hour and I'll be sober."
Afton chuckled. "In an hour you'll be passed out on the floor."
"Maybe," Elijah nodded with his eyes closed.
Angelina looked at Megan with one eye open and the other closed. "Are you going to give me a tour."
"That sounded dangerous." Caden said in a whisper. "This place is supposed to be haunted."
Gabriel guffawed slightly louder than necessary. "Ghosts are the least of the worries here." Megan raised an eyebrow at him.
Afton turned to Megan. "Let's get your friends into some beds so they can sleep off the wine."
"That's a good idea." Megan said starting to rise.
"I'll help Afton, sweetheart. Go up to bed. I will see you in a minute." Gabriel told her. She wondered if he had forgotten that she had moved out. She let him take her friends upstairs and get them situated.
Megan packed away the board game and closed the box leaving it on the coffee table. Then she went upstairs to her new room and gathered pajamas. She went into the bathroom and got herself changed into a pair of shorts and spaghetti strap tank top before sitting down on her new bed. She felt melancholy about being in this room but knew she had chosen correctly because Gabriel hadn't even tried to fight her about moving to a new room.
Two minutes later, Gabriel barged into the room and stopped in front of her. He didn't say a word but tossed her over his shoulder and carted her off down the hall and into his bedroom where he dumped her unceremoniously on the bed.
Gabriel scowled at Megan. "You belong in this room and this bed. Don't try that again. Mim, you can put her things back in here, please. Do not move her again." He called to the room before he turned the lights out and climbed into bed. He pulled the covers over Megan and hauled her against him lying down to sleep.
Megan was somewhat pissed and secretly thrilled too. "Who says you have the right to decide this."
"I say, Megan. I said I was struggling because I was afraid of hurting you. I never said I wanted you away from me." Gabriel rose up so he was propped over top of Megan. She rolled onto her back to see him better. He groaned looking at her.
"What?" Megan asked in a whisper.
"You are too damn beautiful. You are driving me insane." He groaned his voice hoarse.
Megan looked embarrassed. "I..." She stopped talking and looked away.
"What is it, baby?" Gabriel asked concerned.
"I am really achy, down there and I don't know how to fix it. I wanted Angelina to tell me, but we were all busy with the game." Megan said quietly, mortification overtaking her.
Gabriel frowned then caught on. He was being an asshole. Megan was miserable and didn't even fully comprehend why or how to change it. No wonder Mim let her move. Now this was no way to treat his soulmate.
"Baby I can fix this for you without going too far, if you want?" Gabriel groaned internally; this was going to be hell.
"How?" Megan asked unsure.
"I'll show you." Gabriel leaned down kissing Megan until she responded and kissed him back. He knew he couldn't keep that up for long however and moved away after a minute. He pulled Megan's top off once again in awe of how perfect she was. He placed wet kisses on her chest then pulled her shorts and underwear off.
Gabriel could feel her start to tense up. Before she could he pulled a nipple into his mouth pressing against it with his tongue and ran a hand between her legs and began to circle her with his thumb. Megan cried out at the sensation then moaned arching into his hand. She was so responsive and so wet that he knew Megan was already close from being turned on so many times and left hanging.
Two minutes later, Megan's whole body shook as Gabriel stroked her. The fire was burning her alive and she was reaching for something just out of reach. Then the fire exploded white hot, and her vision whited out. Megan cried out as she clutched Gabriel to her. She was panting with pleasure and then he was gone. She vaguely saw him go into the bathroom and shut the door. It was a couple minutes before he came back.
"How do you feel now, baby?" Gabriel asked her with a small smile.
Megan thought about it for a minute. "A ton better, thank you."
"I should never have let it get that bad. Get cleaned up but don't get dressed. I want to feel you against me while we sleep." Gabriel told her with a smirk.
Megan nodded and went into the bathroom. Everything was so sensitive. That had felt amazing and intense. Megan looked at herself in the mirror. Her cheeks were flushed and her hair a little mussed but so far, she didn't look any different. She wondered if she would when they had sex for real.
Megan climbed back into bed and Gabriel pulled her naked body next to his. He had changed into a pair of boxers. When Megan asked about it, he told her he wanted to feel her legs against his. She gave him a kiss, her breasts brushed across his chest. Gabriel groaned, his eyes closing for a moment.
Gabriel was wondering how he could be so sensitive to her that a simple movement could have him on edge. He had to separate himself from her after she came. Everything in him wanted him to say fuck it and push into her heat at that moment. His eyes, his teeth, even his skin had been altered as his mind screamed for the claim.
Smelling her had been what did him in. Her pheromones during sex were the most powerful he had ever experienced, driving him mad with need. He knew she needed relief though and he had managed it, but barely.
Gabriel wrapped his arms around Megan tightly as she lay there with her head on his shoulder, an arm across his waist, and a leg across his. He could feel her heat against his hip. Gabriel needed to claim her and bury himself inside her. He couldn't keep denying these things and it wasn't healthy for either of them, but he was afraid of losing her. That was the problem. If he was wrong, she would be gone, and he would be alone again without her. Gabriel couldn't stand even the thought of that happening.
Gabriel brushed her hair away from her cheek and placed a soft hiss on her forehead. He was in big trouble. He couldn't bear to live without her and couldn't live with her the way things currently were. Gabriel believed she was his soulmate but was terrified to test the theory. What was he going to do?
