Chapter 17 - One mistake left(that's what he gonna say)

Diber started hearing the soldiers' groans, cries, and rebukes, but he remained unresponsive, showing no mercy. Before proceeding with his assault, he spoke only a single, chilling sentence, "You are but mistakes!"

As he spoke those words, his eyes widened, almost as if they were popping out. The reason for this was that his attention was fully fixated on the brain in front of him. Just the mere act of looking at it sent a wave of liberation rolling through him.

As soon as he said those words to the rest of the soldiers, he sprinted, racing towards them with all his might. However, this time, the soldiers were no longer scattered and disorganized; instead, they had gathered together and attacked at the same time. A barrage of punches was coming from all sides, though he managed to dodge only some of them. Yet, on the other hand, just one strike from Diber was enough to send a man reeling backwards, struggling to regain his composure. He squeezed his eyes shut, focusing on recalling past memories in an attempt to divert his attention from the pain. He unleashed a series of powerful, random attacks, which found their mark as the soldiers surrounded him. His sturdy physique kept him from falling even as the relentless barrage of painful blows rained down upon him.

After a few moments passed, Diber stopped attacking, his mind fully immersed in his memories. However, the soldiers continued their relentless onslaught, attacking him until he crumpled to the ground. Once he fell, they ceased their attacks, switching their focus to restraining him, trying to capture him alive.

As the punches came to an end, Diber snapped out of the immersion of past events that had trapped him. He pushed aside the two soldiers trying to carry him out of the hanger--they believed he was unconscious, he cried out to them, "Have you had enough? Need a little motivation to continue?" With a rush of newfound energy, he rose to his feet and resumed his attack against them, making them respond with attacks.

Fifteen minutes of relentless fighting had passed, and those minutes felt like a paradise for Diber - they were the most thrilling fifteen minutes of his existence. At the end of it all, he had lost consciousness, his body falling to the ground with a smile still fixed on his face. However, he had managed to knock off all the soldiers, killing four of them. Only seven bruised and battered soldiers remained standing. They intended on ending Diber's life before he awoke, but finally they found out that Stal had been watching unnoticed from afar the whole time.

With a grin on his face and the two bones in his hands, Stal quickly made his way towards them. His voice rang out as he yelled out, "Thank you, David! Though I would have loved to kill them all myself."

The weary soldiers were no match for Stal. Their attacks and defenses were weak which made it easier for him to kill them. He then killed the remaining soldiers sprawled on the ground before turning his attention to the motionless Diber. With a flicker of hesitation, instead of killing him, he chose to wake Diber up from his unconscious state, eager to engage in a fierce battle.

He sat down, placing his knee on Diber's stomach and grabbing him by the collar, raising his head slightly. Stal then started slapping him across the face with his other hand, yelling, "Wake up, David! You've sparked my excitement with your proposition of a deadly battle between us. You need to wake up. This is going to be a long and unforgettable fight with you."

Stal proceeded to slap Diber again, calling out, "Wake up, David!" On each slap, Diber's eyes slowly began to flicker open. He muttered groggily, "I need to erase the mistakes. I need to eliminate them all... I'll live and die as Diber."

As Diber regained his senses, Stal stood up quickly and said, "Finally, you woke up. Now keep your promise, and let us fight to death, David."

Diber stood up, placing a hand on his forehead as he felt dizzy, and responded with frustration, "My name is Diber! Don't you ever call me David again."

Surprised, Stal momentarily set aside Diber's irritation, his focus was on the impending battle. He replied dismissively, "Whatever... Who even cares. You'll be dead soon anyway, right....Diber?"

Diber looked around at the fallen bodies, his face breaking into a smile as he responded confidently, "You cannot surpass or defeat me in anything, Stal. I was brought into this world to stand above the rest, and I plan to leave it the same way. For now, our concern is the remaining snipers outside; we must deal with them first. After that, I will prove my words to you."

Stal frowned in disappointment, responding, "I had hoped more from you, Diber. You talk like teenagers now. It's me who should speak this way, not you. After all I am one myself..." Then, he continued, "All right... I also want to get rid of them. Let's begin killing them."

After fifteen minutes, the snipers caught sight of the hangar's door slowly opening. They could not discern who opened it. The door advanced a few inches before halting, leaving just enough room for a single individual to pass through. After some time, one of the snipers grew anxious and made his way down to the hangar to investigate what was happening. The snipers were positioned on the rooftops of nearby abandoned houses. The distance between the buildings and the hangar was occupied by an alley. Its width was equal to the hangar door's, while its height extended up to 15 meters.

The sniper cautiously pushed open the door, the rifle on his back while a handgun clutched firmly in his grip, he was ready for action. As the light gradually streamed in, the sniper's eyes widened as he took in the sight of a pile of bodies on the hangar floor. Before he could fully absorb the shock, he spotted two arms holding one of the fallen soldier's severed heads. Those arms began forcibly stretching the soldier's mouth to form a smile. The sniper swiftly raised his gun, aiming at the hand, but a bullet suddenly pierced his head at that moment.

The four remaining snipers started shooting in the direction of the hangar door, though they were unable to identify the source of the bullet that had claimed the life of their comrade. From their point, they could not perceive the entire pile of fallen bodies. Seizing the nearest accessible protective cover, the snipers sought refuge behind the wall at the end of the alley. Their line of sight was limited to the sight of the heap of lifeless bodies before the, nothing more.

The soldiers cautiously drew their weapons and advanced towards the hangar door. As they reached the entrance, they found that the space was completely empty except for the pile of lifeless bodies within. To their surprise, Diber jumped swiftly on one of them and broke his neck. Meanwhile, Stal got up from the heap of bodies, utilizing his gun to kill two more enemies. Simultaneously, Diber gained control of another opponent, twisting and snapping his neck, before discarding his weapon and beckoning for Stal to join him for the long-anticipated deathmatch. Stal secretly placed his gun behind his back, then ascended the heap.
