Valerie rushed to her side, frowning as she held her daughter. "Ruby, what's going on here?"
"This woman," Ruby pointed at her, "She said daddy is not my real daddy. She said that my real daddy is a rapist."
Ruby already knew this fact. In fact, it was her who got her mother married to him. She knew he wasn't her real father, a truth she always wished wasn't true. She couldn't think of another man as her dad. She only wanted Greg to be her father.
After not getting reminded for so long, the child slowly started to believe that Greg was her real father. One could say that Ruby was deluded.
And now, when this Aunty suddenly reminded her that Greg wasn't her real father, and that she wasn't a true Sinclair, the child flew into a fit of rage.
