Valerie nodded, determination etched on her face. "I'm ready, Mr. Tones."
She took the oath, her voice clear and resolute.
Mr. Tones began gently. "Describe your relationship with Zoey Wright."
Valerie's gaze drifted to her father. "She's my stepsister."
Mr. Tones nodded. "And the events of March 15th, 2009?"
Valerie's eyes locked onto Zoey's, a mix of pain and anger. "Before that night, she got into a car accident and blamed it on me. Everyone turned against me at the hospital, and I felt aggrieved, because I was innocent. Desperate to prove my innocence, I picked a fruit knife, and threatened her with it, but she raised an alarm, making everyone think I was going to kill her.
"My dad verbally disowned me and I ran out of the hospital, feeling devastated. At the hospital's parking lot, I received a blow to my neck and passed out. When I woke up, I found myself in a strange place…"
