"You took a huge risk today," Greg said, his voice low and serious. "If I hadn't gotten there earlier, you would've..." He stopped himself, his grip tightening around the steering wheel.
Valerie turned her head, her eyes met his, a hint of regret in their depths. "I underestimated her. I didn't think she'd resort to kidnapping."
"That's exactly why you can't face this alone anymore."
