Valerie stepped out of the company's sleek glass tower, her mind still reeling from the conversation with Greg. As she emerged onto the bustling sidewalk, she was surprised to find Harry waiting for her at the exact spot where he had dropped her off earlier.

His warm smile and sparkling eyes were a stark contrast to the tense atmosphere she had just left behind.

"Ah, you're finally out," Harry said, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "I've been waiting for you. I thought I'd give you a ride home," he added, gallantly opening the car door for her.

Valerie's brows knitted together in a deep frown. Although she wanted to use him, she didn't appreciate this sudden 'friendship'. "What do you mean you've been waiting for me?" she asked, her tone laced with a hint of annoyance. "Don't you have anything better to do with your time?" The words tumbled out like a dagger shooting at his heart. But Harry understood why she was still so salty.
