Shortly after, an ambulance arrived, and the butler left with them after they took Maya away. Mr. Wright let out a deep breath, relieved as he watched the ambulance leave the Wright estate.
"She will be saved," the medical team had assured him.
In that case, his daughter wouldn't become a criminal. She still had a chance to turn her life around. With that thought in mind, he returned to the living room, only to feel the heavy atmosphere. It felt as though another heated confrontation had taken place.
Would there ever be peace in this house? This was why he didn't want Valerie here. He sighed, feeling irritated.
"Aunt Martha, follow me to my room; I need your help with something." Valerie was about to head upstairs to her room when Aunt Martha held her back and said;
"You no longer have a room there… Your things were moved to the servants' quarters."
Valerie's eyes darkened. She didn't need to ask why and who did it. She already knew, because Zoey was smirking at her.
Just as she was about to speak, her father's voice rang from behind. "What do you mean by Valerie's things had been moved? What happened to her room?"
Hearing their father's voice, Zoey quickly withdrew her arrogance and tried to hold Valerie's hands, only to have her hands flung away. Still, she went on, stuttering through her words like she was being bullied.
"I – I'm sorry, Sister, my room caught fire some time ago, so, so I moved into your room for the time being. I'll immediately move out once my room has been put in place... " She lowered her head, feeling remorseful.

Mr. Wright's furrowed brows relaxed. The man was a workaholic. He mostly stayed in the office, especially after Valerie left six years ago, so he barely knew what happened on the estate. When he heard that Valerie no longer had a room in the main mansion, he was angry, until the explanation.
However, Aunt Martha sneered, "When would that be? It's been six years already since you moved into Miss Valerie's room. How long does it take to renovate a room?"
"Aunt Martha, what are you talking about? Uncle Mathew was supposed to get my room done, but he didn't, so how was it my fault?" Zoey sounded aggrieved as she stared at the woman with watery eyes.
Aunt Martha's lips twitched. She was clearly lying. Zoey knew she could get away with using the butler as a shield, because he had left with the ambulance, and wasn't there to speak for himself. At this point, Aunt Martha could only grit her teeth and stay silent.
Mr. Wright didn't see anything wrong with what Zoey said, and had no idea why they were making a big deal out of it, so he intervened. "Now that Valerie is back, she'll make do with the guest room for tonight. Tomorrow, Zoey's room will be renovated, and everyone will return to how they used to live."

His gaze lingered on Valerie for a moment, thinking she would disagree, but Valerie was busy on her phone. Looking at how calm she was as she typed on her phone, with a slight smile on her lips, Mr. Wright suddenly felt embarrassed.
He almost called the police on his beloved daughter! Valentina must be hating him in her grave now. As he thought of that, his heart constricted.
But then again, it was her fault. If she hadn't been so violent and left the maid unconscious, nobody would have thought she had killed the her. Moreover, Zoey had already apologized for misunderstanding the situation.
Mr. Wright clicked his tongue in annoyance and spat, "Just don't cause more trouble now that you're here. This house would love some peace."
Valerie raised her gaze from her screen and snorted before retuning her gaze to the phone. She had already made up her mind to destroy everything. She gave her father a chance, but he stamped on it. No one would blame her for being unforgiving after today.
Seeing her disdainful reaction, Mr. Wright almost puked blood. How unfilial!
Zoey lowered her head, unwillingless consumed her. Even though she wasn't satisfied with the result of today's incident, she could live with that for now, but what she couldn't take was anyone making her leave that room for Valerie. Valerie's room had the best view of the garden and lake, and also, Harry had complimented the room, saying he liked it, so she wasn't going to let Valerie have that room back!
She looked at Valerie and apologized, "Sister, I owe you endless apologies for how I behaved earlier. When I saw how Maya was, I thought she was dead. I'll make sure that words don't get out, and Harry won't hear of this, I promise –"
"Haven't you apologized enough? Valerie clearly had the intention of killing Maya; otherwise, why would she repeatedly smash her head on the marble — "
"That's enough!" Mr. Wright thundered. "The matter has been settled. It was a misunderstanding; let it remain so. Just make sure that next time you have your facts checked before throwing deadly accusations around." It was clear that the man was annoyed, and he didn't hold back when he chastised Zoey.
Zoey froze. This was the first time Mr. Wright had shown this amount of displeasure towards her. Valerie had always been at the receiving end of his wrath.
She suddenly looked at Valerie to see if she was listening, but she didn't seem to care. She was busy texting someone on her phone while smiling!
She had the guts to smile!
Zoey was enraged. She felt the urge to tear off that smile from Valerie's face!
Valerie, on the other hand, was chatting with Grace, who was telling her of Ruby's protest. She needed to wrap this up. Grace had just told her that she couldn't hold Ruby back anymore. Earlier, while the drama was ongoing, she had messaged Grace to hold Ruby down, so she wouldn't witness the messy confrontation.
Now, Ruby had had enough of walking around and seeing the estate and wanted to be with her mother.
Valerie turned to Aunt Martha and said, "Please come and show me where my things are." She paused and looked at her father, "Where is the family register?"
