A mischievous grin spreads across your face as you take Clara up on her suggestion. You grab a freshly baked pretzel from the kitchen, the heat from the oven still radiating from the golden, toasty surface. You take a bite, savoring the salty, buttery goodness of the soft dough. The pretzel is mouth-watering and satisfies your cravings perfectly, and you feel a renewed burst of energy coursing through you, ready to tackle the rest of the busy café shift.
Returning to your station, you resume your work with newfound energy. The café continues to bustle with activity, and soon enough, you fall into a rhythm with your co-workers, serving customers and attending to their needs. As you work, you can hear snippets of conversation and laughter from the patrons, and the warm atmosphere of the café envelops you. You feel a sense of fulfillment from being part of this vibrant, bustling environment, and you find yourself enjoying the work much more than you initially expected.
As the day slowly comes to a close, the rush of customers begins to subside, and the café settles into a tranquil, calm ambiance. You look around at the café, taking in the remnants of the bustling day - empty cups on tables, crumbs scattered on the floors, and a sense of satisfied exhaustion on the faces of your co-workers. Clara approaches you, her face gleaming with contentment.
As you watch the café close up for the day, a sense of disappointment washes over you. Despite the rush of the day and the fulfillment from your work, you realize that you haven't had much opportunity to explore and understand this new world. The realization dampens your spirits slightly, and a nagging sense of curiosity remains unfulfilled.
At Luca's house, him and his friends continue chatting away, their conversation turning to the topic of your work.
"You know," one of Lucas' friends says suddenly, his eyes widening with realization. "I have a hunch where that cute catgirl you were talking about works."
-"Where?" All of them ask him
Luca's friend continues, a smirk on his face. "It's a little café not far from here. I remember seeing a female catfolk working there the other day."
Luca's eyes light up with excitement.
"Really?" he asks eagerly, leaning forward in his seat. "You're sure it's the same one?"
Luca's friend nods confidently.
"Oh, absolutely. She had those cute cat ears and a tail, just like you described. I'm pretty sure she works there."
Luca's friends exchange excited glances, their curiosity piqued.
"We should totally go check it out," one of them suggests. "See if we can catch a glimpse of her again."
As you finish tidying up the café, you prepare to leave. The day's work has left you feeling both accomplished and exhausted. You bid farewell to your colleagues, and as you exit the café with your pay in your pocket, you are lost in thought about how you can explore this new world. Suddenly, you sense a presence nearby, and you look up to find Luca standing a few feet away, his cheeks tinged with a rosy blush.
"H-Hi," he says softly, meeting your eyes.
-"Hi"
Luca takes a deep breath, attempting to compose himself. He fidgets nervously for a moment before speaking.
-"I, uh, was hoping to see you again," he says, his voice tinged with a hint of excitement. "I really enjoyed the time we spent together this morning."
As he continues speaking, his cheeks blush a deeper shade of red, and he gazes at you with a hopeful expression, awaiting a response.
-"Y-yea. I want to spend time with you but I'm too tired right now, maybe tomorrow morning?
Luca's expression brightens immediately, a wide smile spreading across his face.
-"Sure, yeah! Let's meet tomorrow morning. You've had a long day, and you deserve to rest."
He pauses for a moment, his eyes gleaming with affection.
-"By the way... you're really cute," he says quietly, admiring your feline features.
-"So does you"
Luca's cheeks flush an even deeper shade of crimson, and he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.
-"Heh... thank you," he stammers, clearly taken aback by your compliment. "I-I'm just glad we got to meet again."
He gazes at you with fond eyes, his shyness quickly giving way to a gentle, affectionate smile.
