Obito was born into the Uchiha Clan; however, he grew up without his parents and without knowing who they were, as they died shortly after his birth. On the day he was set to become a student at the Konoha Ninja Academy, Obito arrived late to the opening ceremony.
Although most of his future class, including Kakashi Hatake, paid no attention to him, Rin immediately offered her friendship by giving him a package with the orientation documents. When Obito finally graduated at the age of nine, he was placed on a team with Rin and Kakashi under the tutelage of their teacher Minato Namikaze. The team later participated in the Chūnin Exams, where Obito was eliminated in the third round by Guy. Kakashi, by defeating Guy in turn, was able to advance to the rank of Chūnin. Seeing how excited his teammate Rin was about Kakashi's promotion, Obito began training harder. Eventually, he also advanced to Chūnin at the age of eleven.
During the Third Shinobi World War, they were assigned a mission to destroy the enemy bridge (Kannabi Bridge). In this mission, Rin, Obito's and Kakashi's teammate, was kidnapped, and Obito, without hesitation, went to rescue her, not before arguing with Kakashi about whether to save her or continue with the mission.
The mission escalated in danger, leading to the moment where Obito, seeing Kakashi in danger, threw himself in front of him and saved his life, sacrificing himself just as part of the cave they were trapped in began to collapse, leaving half of his body crushed.
Despite all this, Obito did not die at that moment; instead, an elderly Madara Uchiha found him at the entrance to his hideout and began to heal him.
This brings us to the current timeline.
As Kenjaku walked alongside a white Zetsu through a rocky corridor, he heard shouts full of energy. Obito's renewed vigor coursed through his veins as he trained with all his might, determined to reunite with his friends once more.
Obito's determination did not go unnoticed by Kenjaku. He knew what the future held for this young man, who would become a figure as feared as he was controversial, almost a meme in his world. But here, he was a determined man, someone who in his youth managed to stand against none other than the Fourth Hokage.
Kenjaku followed the Zetsu, who led him to a secret hallway where Madara awaited him.
Madara, old and worn out, was sitting on a wooden throne, his eyes closed. His presence emanated an oppressive aura, a reminder of his former glory in the era of the clans. However, his body betrayed the truth: emaciated, he could barely breathe normally, even with Hashirama's meat ;:| keeping him alive.
He had extended his existence to its limit. Time, the most relentless enemy of a shinobi, was finally taking its toll. Yet Madara remained calm, connected to the statue with Hashirama's face, which supplied the strength necessary to keep him alive.
"So, it's time," said Kenjaku, making wooden roots emerge from the ground to form a bench where he sat with apparent tranquility.
Madara nodded without opening his eyes, maintaining his composure in front of Kenjaku.
"How much time do you think you have left?" Kenjaku asked, watching as Madara gripped the wooden throne tightly.
"At most, enough to finish training the brat. Three to five months, at best," Madara growled as he opened his eyes, revealing a pair of fully developed Rinnegan.
Kenjaku stared at him intently before speaking again. "Do you have a plan to return in the future?" he asked with curiosity, yawning lazily.
"I've set my sights on a boy from a Uzumaki family in the Land of Rain," Madara responded calmly. "I plan for a Zetsu to transfer my eyes, and for Obito to manipulate him to revive me when the time comes, completing the Moon Eye Plan."
Madara coughed, blood escaping into his hand.
"Are you certain Obito will revive you?" Kenjaku asked in a calm yet serious tone, beginning to calculate his moves against Madara.
Madara stared at him, waiting for him to continue. To Madara, Kenjaku was an intriguing individual. He had never met someone who understood the shinobi world so deeply. Despite this, he considered Kenjaku docile, rarely challenging his decisions, though he could occasionally be annoying. If he ever interfered with his plan in the future, Madara would not hesitate to eliminate him.
"There is nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose," Kenjaku said, maintaining his serene tone. "That Jinchūriki you plan to kill is the love of his life."
Madara frowned, beginning to understand but wanting confirmation. "What are you getting at?" he asked, his voice growing graver.
"No matter how meticulous your plan is, there are always variables beyond your control. What makes you think that once you're dead, Obito won't use the Rinnegan to revive Rin instead of you? What makes you think everything will go as you expect? What makes you think the Six Eyes or perhaps the nations won't turn against him? What will happen if, instead of you bringing peace, he does it out of his love for the Jinchūriki?" Kenjaku said calmly.
Madara's frown deepened. A surge of pure chakra burst from his body, cracking the ground.
"He won't," Madara said confidently. "He's under my control. He wouldn't dare defy me. And if the nations rise against him..." A cold laugh escaped his mouth. "It's as simple as killing them all."
Kenjaku observed the cracks in the ground and chuckled softly. "Wow, despite your age, your chakra is still impressive," he commented before yawning again. "Do you know why your eyes, the so-called Rinnegan, took so long to awaken?" he asked, staring intently at Madara, who now watched him with interest.
Kenjaku smiled. "A long time ago, in the era of the Sage of Six Paths, when ninjutsu was known as Ninshu, he had two sons: Asura, the younger, and Indra, the elder. Those two are very much like you and Hashirama." His gaze drifted to the ceiling as he spoke.
"One was kind and compassionate. The other, is a cold and ruthless leader. One loved his people, the other... well, you know." Kenjaku turned his attention back to Madara, who continued to listen intently.
"You Uchiha are descendants of Indra," he said, raising a finger. "Indra was the first human to awaken the Sharingan and the first to use Susano'o." He raised another finger. "Hashirama and the Senju are descendants of Asura."
"However, due to the differences in their personalities and ideals, and a decision made by the Sage of Six Paths, Asura and Indra entered an eternal conflict. A battle that reshaped entire landscapes and gave rise to the shinobi world as you know it today."
"But their struggle was never resolved, which caused their chakras to reincarnate over and over into new bodies, perpetuating their rivalry." Kenjaku paused, lowering one of his fingers and pointing with the remaining one.
"You and Hashirama are the reincarnations of Indra and Asura, respectively. Part of Indra's chakra still resides within you, though it is very weak," Kenjaku said, observing Madara, who returned his gaze intensely.
"So... you're saying the reason it took so long for my Rinnegan to awaken was because this Indra's chakra within me is too weak?" Madara responded, quickly connecting the pieces. His sharp intellect allowed him to grasp the situation almost instantly.
Kenjaku smiled, noticing Madara's quick wit. "Exactly. First of all, because Indra's chakra, while powerful, is spiritually weaker than Asura's. His spiritual influence over you manifests primarily in your personality and ideals. The rest—the physical potential and techniques—is more of a latent inheritance. On the other hand, Asura had a stronger spiritual connection, a superior harmony with Yin and Yang. That's why Hashirama can master the Wood Release, and it's also the reason this element is so unique and powerful, with no one else born with the ability to wield something like it."
Kenjaku watched as Madara's eyes narrowed while processing what he had just heard.
"To awaken the Rinnegan, there are two fundamental requirements," Kenjaku continued, raising two fingers. "First, the body must contain equal amounts of Indra's and Asura's chakras. This balance allows the body to stabilize both chakras, recreating something akin to the Sage of Six Paths' chakra. Second, a strong and compatible body with Yin and Yang energy is needed—one capable of stabilizing both chakras and managing the energy within the body. Moreover, this body must have reached a state of both physical and spiritual maturity."
Madara nodded slowly as he reflected. 'So, one of the two components was incomplete. The one lacking or insufficient was Hashirama's, as I only obtained a small portion of his DNA. That also explains why the Zetsus are so weak'.
His gaze shifted toward Kenjaku, this time with a glimmer of suspicion. "Then why did I awaken the Rinnegan anyway?" he asked cautiously, watching as Kenjaku smiled.
"Because, unconsciously, you adapted Indra's chakra to the small amount of Asura's chakra you obtained from Hashirama," Kenjaku explained calmly, causing Madara to raise an eyebrow. "However, in doing so, you also mitigated Indra's chakra, suppressing it with Asura's. This has resulted in your body now containing more of Asura's chakra than Indra's."
Madara nodded, absorbing Kenjaku's explanation, becoming increasingly aware of the intricate complexity behind his own power.
"If you dared to use the Rinnegan in your current state, you would die. That's something that would never have happened to the Sage of Six Paths, not even in his old age," Kenjaku commented, his tone relaxed though every word carried evident weight. However, Madara's expression remained entirely unaltered.
"When you are fully revived, you will lose your eyes, as you will have given them to Nagato. Furthermore, the Rinnegan you will awaken with will be incomplete, lacking certain jutsus. Among them, one in particular—a unique jutsu possessed only by the original Rinnegan user. It is a power that allows the creation of anything the user's imagination can conceive."
At these words, Madara slowly opened his tired eyes. Does such a jutsu exist in the shinobi world? How is that possible? Am I truly so far beneath the Sage of Six Paths? he wondered, his mind brimming with questions.
Madara fixed a steady gaze on Kenjaku, who responded with a light smile, clearly enjoying the intrigue he had stirred in Madara.
"I will leave the matter of reincarnation in your hands, but I want to know... what do you suggest?" Madara asked, keeping his tone neutral though his interest was palpable.
"I possess the ability to track the chakra of reincarnations," Kenjaku declared calmly, causing Madara's eyebrow to arch slightly.
"Is that even possible?" Madara questioned, his curiosity now more evident.
Kenjaku nodded with a smug smile, making it clear that what he said was no mere boast. Moreover, it was evident that this knowledge had been carefully concealed, reserved for this very moment.
"I have lived far longer than you can imagine," Kenjaku continued, his voice taking on a solemn tone. "I met the Sage of Six Paths himself in person. I can confirm to you that he is real. He, in his attempt to bring peace to a world filled with chaos and war, created this endless cycle by giving the power of Ninshu to humans. And you, Madara Uchiha, descendant of Indra, are the new messiah destined to correct his mistake. You are the chosen one to bring ultimate peace to this world."
Madara continued to observe him closely, evaluating every word.
"That's why I was born in this land," Kenjaku concluded, with an intensity that felt like an echo in the room. "My task has been to find you, prepare you for your rebirth, and return you to your greatest glory so that you can fulfill your destiny and bring peace to the world."
"And as for my backup plan..." Kenjaku began with an enigmatic tone.
"You will become an object that, through seals, will carry your soul," he continued, his gaze fixed on Madara, who listened intently. "Your mission will be to steal the chakra of Indra that you still lack from the next reincarnation in the future."
Kenjaku paused briefly, gauging Madara's reaction before continuing.
"As for your body, I will mummify it and seal its chakra. When you take control of the body of Indra's reincarnation and fully possess it, I will return your mummified body to you. By consuming both your body and chakra, you will reincarnate and recover the Rinnegan, which will immediately adapt to the power of the Six Paths' chakra already formed within you." Kenjaku finished with a smile that seemed to hide something deeper.
"Sounds good, but I demand a binding vow," Madara responded calmly, his voice firm and authoritative.
The old shinobi's gaze sharpened, and the Rinnegan in his eyes slowly rotated. He stood up from his throne with an intimidating grace and walked toward Kenjaku. He extended his hand slowly, but the pressure emanating from him was overwhelming, a force that would make anyone else fall to their knees. However, Kenjaku was not like the others. He showed no fear; he was on the same level as Hashirama and Madara combined, and he would still have a chance to win.
Kenjaku rose with equal calm and returned the gesture, shaking Madara's hand. In that instant, the binding vow was sealed. The consequences were clear: Kenjaku's death if he failed to fulfill his promise, and Madara's death if he tried to betray him once reincarnated.
Time skip.
A body tumbled down a waterfall, carried by the current. It was covered in scars, without eyes, floating like a shadow of the warrior it once was. Suddenly, a black blur emerged from the water, grabbed the body, and disappeared instantly.
End of the chapter.

Author's note:
Well, this is the last chapter before we move to the present era. I wanted to cover the incidents completely, but I felt it wasn't necessary to go into more detail.
To summarize:
Kenjaku influenced both Obito and Orochimaru. Nagato currently holds Madara's Rinnegan. Kenjaku will play an important role in the Uchiha massacre. He will also control Amegakure and the Hidden Mist Village. He stole the bodies of Minato and Kushina. His current main body will be Shisui's until the end of the plot.
I wanted to write the battle between Hiruzen and Danzo against Kenjaku, but I felt it would be too much. I decided to leave it out. However, both survived because Hiruzen knew how to perform Simple Domain.
That's all for now. The next chapter will take us directly to the main plot, where things will finally get interesting.
