Though Blake didn't understand what was happening or what Kate wanted from him exactly, knowing that his death was necessary for her to get her desires was enough to bring out the strongest fighting spirit in him, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough.
With his desire to march towards his goals and see them be accomplished, Blake went all out, putting in his best and for a time, he saw the light which led to his blade going through Kate's head.
