The girl was sitting on the side of her mother's bed, talking to her. The girl said, "Mom, I'll be gone for a couple of days."
The mother asked, "Where are you going, dear?"
The girl replied, "I'm just going to spend the weekend with Hannah."
The mother said, "But where are you going?"
The girl said, "It's okay, don't worry. I'll be fine. We'll only be gone for a week. Don't worry, I've hired someone to take care of you."
The mother said, "You can't just leave. What if something happens to you? What if you get lost?"The girl interrupted her and said, "Mom, it's okay. My friend will be with me. I'll be safe. Mom, I really need to do this. It's very important to me. I know it's a lot to ask, but I have to do this."
The mother looked away, then looked back at her daughter. She sighed, then smiled. "Well, it can't be helped. You were always the adventurous one. You got that from me." The mother started laughing.
The daughter was smiling, and then the mother said, "Okay, if that's what you want, then I don't mind. But promise me you will be careful, okay? And stay by your friend's side all the time, okay?"
The daughter said, "I promise."The daughter hugged her mom, and the mother hugged back.
