"Where is Victor?" Robin asked Caroline, coming down to the living room.
Caroline frowned at Robin's urgency. "All the boys went to the warehouse for training. Are you alright? You look flushed."
"I am fine," Robin gulped. He couldn't believe Victor left without saying anything. He wondered if Caroline knew Robin aided Victor's rut last night. After the intense night they spent together, this was not how he expected to be treated. No good morning kiss, no note, no morning coffee together. It was as if Victor wanted to get away from him as soon as possible. Robin held back the tears which Caroline saw through.
"Hey, it's okay," Caroline said, without asking any questions and hugging him tightly. Caroline was a great support. Everyone in the Thrall family was but Robin missed his siblings. he wished he could talk to his sisters right now. He wiped his tears and straightened.
"Victor must still be in rut. It's not even been twenty-four hours. Isn't it dangerous for the people around him?" Robin asked.
"He is pushing it this time," Caroline said. "Rody asked him to stay back. He wasn't looking very good this morning but he left for training anyway."
"When did they leave?" Robin asked.
"Half an hour ago," Caroline answered.
"I should go as well. See how everything is going."
Caroline nodded. "I will drive you."
Robin came to the warehouse area and saw Victor training. Rody and Arthur had joined him as well.
"Why are they training with Victor?" Robin asked, looking at Rody and Arthur who were struggling to keep up with Victor.
"Victor asked them to. In case our family gets attacked again they would be able to defend us."
Robin nodded. It made sense. But Victor was brutal in the way he was pushing his brothers. Today, unlike the previous day, he was shirtless, only wearing combat pants and shoes. A cloth mask covering his face. He was sweating, face flush, muscles chorded. The slight bulge in his combat pants announced like a siren that this Alpha was in a deep rut. Testosterone must be rushing through his system like lava, no wonder he was laying it down for his brother, showing no mercy. Robin wasn't sure why his brothers allowed it. A rutting Alpha couldn't possibly be safe to be around. As far the anger was concerned, Robin had a feeling he was the cause of the angry look on Victor's face.
Lawrence was present at the warehouse today. He sat with his subordinates in the small office. Victor could see him through the glass door. When Lawrence saw Robin, he excused himself and walked towards him.
"You shouldn't have let him come to training today," Lawrence said as he walked up to him. "I am afraid he would hurt himself or someone around him."
Lawrence was right. Soldiers around Victor maintained their distance, looking cautious. Knowing how worked-up Victor was, anyone with a little sense knew not to mess with him.
During break Arthur and Rody walked to the resting area. Caroline rushed to her husband while Robin wondered what he should do. Lawrence was saying something but Robin had no interest in his words. Robin's eyes were fixed on Victor who hadn't looked in his direction once. Victor knew Robin was here. The tense shoulder and the deliberate attempt to keep his gaze away were evidence enough.
"Victor," Robin called.
Victor froze. Robin saw him clench his jaw before he walked to him. "Lawrence, leave," he growled, his eyes fixed on Robin.
Lawrence's eyes darted between the two of them before he scurried away like his ass was on fire.
"Why are you here? There is no paperwork today."
"Can we talk to you in private?" Robin said. He didn't like the soldiers' eyes on them.
"You can say whatever you want right here," Victor spat.
"Brother," Rody warned as he came from the resting area, as if he could sense his brother's volatile demeanor. He placed a hand on Victor's shoulders and said in the most demure voice Robin had ever heard him talk. "Go talk to him."
Robin could see Victor's jaw working, the anger behind his eyes, the pure distaste for Robin.
Victor walked past Robin outside the common area into the back room and Robin followed.
"Will you tell me what got your panties in a twist?" Robin asked.
Victor took hold of Robin's wrist and pushed him against the wall.
"What are you doing?" Robin asked in panic and excitement when Victor yanked his pants down.
"You wanted this, didn't you, Robin? That's why you came here. To be taken," Victor husked.
"Victor! Someone could come in," Robin protested, even though his body betrayed him.
"Let them see then. Let them see what you do to me." Victor growled.
Robin bit his lips.
"Tell me you want this," Victor gritted.
"Why are you asking? You are going to do it anyway," Robin spat.
"I am a lot of things but a rapist I am not," Victor said. "If you don't want this, leave right now."
Victor loosened his hold but Robin made no move to get away from him. Of course, he wanted Victor, when did he not want him? He woke up wanting to be taken by him.
"That's what I thought," Victor said, before doing what he wanted to do. Robin bit down on his tongue trying not to make a sound, trying not to announce to the world what despicable things they were doing. When the k**t started to form Robin panicked.
"Victor, no. We can't right now!" Robin started to move away as he realized what a k**t would mean. They did not have time for it right now. Anyone could walk in on them.
"Shh…" Victor cooed. "Hold still."
"I love you, Robin," Victor whispered, kissing his shoulder. "You are everything to me, you know that? The idea of leaving you behind scares me. Fucking terrifies me."
"I love you too, Victor."
Victor stilled behind him. "It is the first time you have said it back."
"I did?" Robin asked, surprised. "Well, I have felt it for a long time now."
"Sorry, I didn't make you come."
Robin chuckled. "I don't think I would have been able to come here."
"I am going to call off the war," Victor said, once they were done and Robin had cleaned himself.
"What?" Robin frowned. "Why?"
"I will not bring my child to the world in the middle of a war."
"You can't do that. Everyone is looking forward to the freedom the war will bring."
"I don't care!" Victor yelled. "I will not put my child's life in harm's way for someone's freedom."
"Someone's freedom? It's a whole kingdom we are talking about. You can't be selfish, you are a King."
"I don't care about the people. I care about you. And I care about my unborn child."
"I can't allow that. It's crazy you can even think about calling off the war."
Victor took hold of Robin's face and squeezed. "Don't tell me what I can or can't do. You might have tricked me into getting you pregnant but you will not trick me into getting my child's life in danger."
"Trick you?" Robin tasted acid in the words. "How would I trick you?"
"You think I don't know how guilty you feel about betraying your father?" Victor gritted.
"What are you saying?" Robin asked, feeling his heart sink.
"You knew if you got pregnant I would never allow this war. I have told you so. You knew it!"
"Take that back, Victor," Robin whimpered. "You do not mean that."
"I told again and again and again that I didn't want to get you pregnant but didn't listen. You forced me to do it anyway. I hate myself for not having the strength to say no."
"How could I force you into getting me pregnant? I asked you to not knot me last night. You are the one who insisted."
"And you are the one who opened your legs like a whore." Victor didn't get to finish before Robin slapped him right across the face with as much strength as he could muster. Robin stepped away, a palm on his mouth in horror.
"I can't believe I got you are my mate," Robin spat. "You know it takes two to make a baby."
"Robin," Victor said, a look of guilt forming his face. "Come here."
"Go fuck yourself," Robin yelled before storming away.
Part of Robin wanted to go back to the Capital City to his father just to piss off Victor more. But even when Robin was furious at Victor, he still hated his father more. He had promised his people that he would bring them justice and nothing could sway him off the path, not even Victor.
Robin went to Caroline. "How early can I find out if I am pregnant?"
Caroline raised an eyebrow. Her eyes darted to Rody who pretended to not listen.
"After you miss your next heat."
"Can Arthur test me for it?"
Caroline nodded.
It didn't matter though, Robin was pretty sure he was pregnant. Now all that was left was to make sure that Victor didn't call off the war.
