The evening sun cast long shadows as Shibahime lowered her wooden sword, its tip resting lightly on the ground. Her eyes, sharp and filled with unspoken tension, locked onto Akaya.
"What are you doing here?" Akaya asked, eyeing her warily.
"Do you mean, 'Why am I here at the Kensei Club?' If so, the answer is simple—I'm the club president," she responded, crossing her arms while still holding the wooden sword, her gaze narrowing as though contemplating something darker.
"Could you not look like you're plotting to kill someone? It's kind of becoming a habit," Akaya muttered, half-joking.
"Don't worry. If I did decide to kill you, it'd be quick. No one would notice your absence," she retorted calmly.
"Uh, I'm not worried about the insurance payout!" Akaya shot back.
"Who said anything about insurance? You really should worry about your loved ones being left behind."
