Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - Rain

My eyes shook a little at his statement. He continued speaking. Also, I asked him about the country, not his life story. "I hated my father. He was a horrible man." "Why do you hate the Jeti army then?" He ignored me and kept speaking. "My father killed my mother." I had no words. "There was an ancient law in L'eau. It prevents boyfriends or husbands from leaving their partners. The same goes for the other way as well." What kind of shitty law was that? Whoever made this law had to have had something happen to them for this horrible of a law to be made. "The law was made by the first ruler of the country. Legend says that the first ruler of L'eau, who was also named L'eau made this law after she had been left by her boyfriend." Oh shit. This was kind of my fault. I started to feel incredibly guilty about this, and could guess was coming next. "Because of the law, my parents couldn't divorce even if they wanted to. So, my father killed my mother. He smashed her head open with a chair." That was a little too much detail. Despite not having any involvement with the murder, it's most likely that L'eau made that law after I got put in eternity. This was now my responsibility. I'm not a very good person. I've known this forever. I was a selfish person who agreed to leave my girlfriend for eternity. I lied and stole when needed. I always thought you couldn't blame me, because I was just trying to live. But people have a right to live. The choices they make decide their morality, which in turn decides if they have the right to live or not. I am not a god, but I still allow myself to make those decisions, which is also selfish. Despite all this, I still want to help. Ame is a man who indirectly suffered because of me. During this, Ame continued talking about it. "When the king found out, he forced my father to join his army. No prison. No tax. Just work. I have no clue what he got up to in there, but it's not my problem. All I know is that it led to him getting killed." I was silent. There was nothing I could even say to this. "After my father got assassinated, a fight broke out. The king of Ujarak shot a rock bullet at the commander, and yet it only scratched his ankle. He escaped soon after. Later down the line, my sister and brother both killed themselves. However, the kings guard never did an investigation on it." That was a lot to take in. Despite him mostly talking about himself, I still learned about the country. The mood was awkward and there wasn't much to say. Thankfully, he spoke up so I didn't have to. "So, uhm.. enough about me! Lets start the training!" "Alright." I was glad he changed the topic. I stood up and walked to the edge of the mountain, awaiting his instruction. "So, I'm gonna teach you to use water magic. We'll start off with a simple water ball. Put your hand out." "Okay, easy enough. What's next?" "So, you gotta like, imagine the water." "Uhm... Okay?" With his lengthy description of how to imagine the water, I begin to imagine the beach. Water flowing forward, breaking down whatever sand was built up. Somebody spent time building it up, and yet the natural law of the world broke it down. That's just how things are. "Uh, are you listening? I said to imagine the whoosh." "What the fuck are you talking about?" After realizing I didn't understand a single thing he was talking about, Ame then recited a exert from a book he read, which was a lot easier to understand than whatever he was spouting out beforehand. I understood the instructions and began. I sensed the air around me. I imagined pulling the moisture from it, expanding it, and condensing it. After I did that, a small ball of water appeared in my hands, and soon fell apart. Ame looked stunned. His facial expression then changed and he said "I guess my instructions really helped after all". With a smug look on his face, he begun explaining the next step. "Okay so, next, you gotta imagine the water, but when you condense it, make it go forward." This yet again required explanation from a book. However, I begun to understand it soon enough. I held out my hand and created the ball of water. I imagined vacuuming up the moisture, turning it into the shape of a ball, and condensing it. As I was about to try and shoot it out, my face turned pale. A line I previously heard appeared in my head again.("This eternity has ended. Goodbye. However, nothing is out of reach. I will leave you with a gift, for I am not a devil.") "I will leave you with a gift, for I am not a devil." The energy from my body rapidly began fading away. With the small amount of energy I had left, I looked at my hand. The small ball of water I had grew 50 times the size it previously was. Raw magical energy poured out from my body into the ball. Right before I fainted, I launched the ball out of my palm. My consciousness faded away yet again. When I woke up, I saw Ame sitting there. I looked over to my left and saw a massive crater in the mountain I was aiming at. A smile appeared on mine and Ame's face once we realized what I had done. "You fucking did it!" We were both happy, and yet that energy was slightly short lived. "Hey, Nell." "What is it?"" How did you learn to harness raw magical energy? That's been lost since ancient times." I then realized the gift I had received. It was part of my magic that I had previously lost. Back then, elemental magic was very new. The only ways of fighting was raw magic energy and weapons. I didn't say anything about it, because Ame didn't give me the chance. Anyways, I was glad. It seemed Ame was too, because of what he said. "I'm so glad I freed you from that crystal." What...?
