Chapter 31: A Chance to Explain to the Princess

---

[Morgan looked at you holding the scarf and didn't get angry on the spot.]

[She just turned around silently and disappeared into the crowd quickly, as if she had never appeared.]

[You realize that something is wrong.]

[You wrapped Artorius's "scarf" around your neck and then hurried to the room where Morgan was.]

The moonlight shone on the corridor of the royal court, casting a faint white glow on Ian.

He bypassed all eyes that might discover his relationship with Morgan and came to her door.

Knock Knock Knock—

Ian knocked on the door as usual.

However, Morgan did not open the door as usual.

Knock Knock Knock—

Ian knocked on the door again.

[You knocked on the door many times, but Morgan ignored you.]

[You realize this is not a solution.]

[You decide to change your strategy slightly.]

There was total silence outside the room, not even a sound.

Of course, Ian didn't leave.

He just stood at Morgan's door without saying a word - he would not leave until Morgan ordered him to.

There was silence for a long time.

The door of the room opened.

Morgan, wearing a gauze dress, poked her head out and saw Ian waiting at the door.

He smiled and said, "My Lady, I am glad to see you at last."

Morgan immediately realized she had fallen into Ian's "trap."

She turned around and tried to close the door, but Ian blocked her with his hand.

"Princess, please give me a chance to explain, okay?"

"A chance to explain?" Morgan's mouth curled up slightly. "Sure, Ian, you said so yourself."

[You are brought into the room by Morgan.]

[The door closes again, leaving you two alone.]

[But you clearly feel something is not right in the atmosphere.]

Morgan was still wearing the same figure-revealing gauze dress, and the faint glow of moonlight and candlelight shone on her from the other side.

The curves of her body under the tulle were vividly outlined by the light, without any part left to the imagination.

It's a very subtle feeling.

Although you can't see anything on the surface, it seems like you can see everything.

Ian knew this was not an occasional display but a strategy Morgan had already mastered.

"Sit down."

Morgan patted the seat beside her.

"…"

Ian did not refuse Morgan's request.

[You sat in the seat designated by Morgan.]

[However, before you could feel the softness of the bed, Morgan's feet landed directly in front of you.]

[Her strength was neither too strong nor too weak. While using her heels to make you feel the unbearable weight of life, she did not exert enough pressure on you to inflict serious harm.]

[The pressure of life and death that the Sword of Damocles can exert is probably limited to this extent.]

[She motioned for you to come closer to her, then hooked her finger under your chin at a perfect position and spoke in a lukewarm tone.]

"Ian, you are my knight, right?"

"Yes, Princess." Ian looked directly at Morgan, "I will always be your most loyal knight."

"Then why do you have so much fun chatting with other women?"

"She's not your princess, is she?"

Morgan's fingers gently gestured at Ian's chin.

"Ian, answer me seriously, you don't want anything important to break, do you?"

As she spoke, Morgan put a little more force on her heels.

A little cold sweat appeared on Ian's forehead.

But he was not panicked - he knew how to explain it clearly.

You confessed to Morgan that it was Artorius, and once again emphasized the fact that he was a man.

[This was just a farewell between you and a junior who you got along well with.]

[But Morgan didn't let you go.]

The princess gently wiped the knight's chin with her slender fingers.

Ian also felt real pressure - the kind that came from Morgan's heel.

"Ian, I don't want to do this, but you don't seem very honest."

"If it was a man, why did they give you a scarf?"

As expected, she asked about the scarf.

But Ian was not panicked at all - because he truly had no feelings for Artorius.

"My Lady, you are indeed very observant."

"But—"

"Maybe you need to look at the scarf first."

[You took out the scarf Artorius gave you.]

[Morgan took it in her own hands and looked at it for a long time.]

[As you watched, she held it over the flame of the candlestick and burned it clean.]

"Ugly."

Morgan's voice sounded as the burning embers and stench disappeared.

"I don't like it at all. Don't let me see you getting this kind of thing from any girl again."

"And—"

"Not even from men."

"Those with unknown gender are not allowed either."

At this point, Ian knew the unfinished scarf had indeed made Morgan believe what he said.

"Okay, Princess." He smiled slightly, "I will pay attention next time."

[Morgan has let you go for now.]

[Her heels relax a little, no longer giving you as much pressure as before.]

[However, her inquiry did not end there.]

"Ian," Morgan leaned forward slightly. "Didn't you say that the man named Artorius might have seen something he shouldn't have?"

Ian nodded.

"Yes, my lady."

"I did think so before, but after actually communicating with him, I found that he didn't notice what I did at that time at all."

"And there are some mistakes that I have to confess to you."

"Oh—?"

Morgan's fingers traced the edge of Ian's cheek.

"Tell me, what's the matter?"

Ian took a deep breath and spoke in an apologetic tone:

"He looks a bit like you, and I just couldn't do it."

Hearing this, Morgan smiled.

"Ian, are you trying to say you see me in him?"

"Yes, Princess, you are right. That is why I did not do anything."

Ian looked so sincere that Morgan had no way of doubting what he said.

She slowly eased her heels away from Ian.

"Ian, if that's the case, you should kill him."

"Someone similar to me is a potential threat."

"Yes, Princess. Now that I think about it, I should have done that." Ian did not deny his mistake.

"I am willing to accept any punishment."

"Punishment?"

Morgan stood up.

In the moonlight, she had a graceful figure and skin as white as cream, like a unique elf dancing in this world.

"Well, I really should punish you."

Morgan turned around and took Ian's hand.

"I will punish you by asking you to accompany me to sit on my father's throne for a while."
