The vivid scenes he had created with his power finally ended.
Everything that happened was a vision he had shared with Xara. After returning to reality he found that she was completely shaken.
Her body was convulsing, her large chest was heaving, and tears constantly flowed out of her eyes. No matter how many times she clenched her perfect teeth, the tears within her wouldn't stop flowing.
Canaan asked softly as he took Xara into his embrace. "Do you regret learning everything?"
"No, no matter how ill fated her past life was. I'm glad I got to know of it, after all she is my little sister." Xara cried.
Canaan held her. Even as a complete outsider, he had been deeply struck with pity at Rhea's horrible fate.
To think, that on this cursed deserted world he would find a Celestial goddess reincarnated.
Fate was truly a mystical existence.
Initially he had wanted to save her as a favour to Xara.
He had been truly touched by the vision he had seen, but her being a Celestial goddess complicated things. He found himself unsure as to whether he should save a prospective enemy.
Also, while he could easily toy with the fates of other beings how could he also do so to one such as him who existed on such a high plane.
But then, he took in Xara's mournful expression and his hesitation disappeared.
His woman should only shed tears for him!
After waiting for Xara to calm down Canaan ordered camly : "Step away please."
"What do you want to do?" Xara looked at him with suspicion.
"Obviously, I want to fix her."
"There's no need." Xara immediately shook her head. "You are indeed formidable, but if what we saw is true. Then her situation is far too complex to be rashly interfered with."
"No it isn't, it isn't complex at all
Canaan touched his neck, then the abtruse gemstone was suddenly glinting within his two fingers. He let out a sad sigh, a look of frustration and disappointment appeared on his face: "I know you still dont trust me. But at the very least, I don't have any reason to decieve you and harm her through underhanded means. If I wanted the current her dead, I could easily have my wish. The reason I wish to save her is naturally because I desire your forgiveness. If I succeed she will be conscious again. If i fail....at the very least, I can promise that her situation will not get any worse."
Canaan's words startled Xara with their truth and she could not help agreeing inwardly. He didn't request anything from her or raise any conditions. He also, as he said so himself, had no reason to plot against her or her infirm sister … And besides all of this, she had indeed brought him here because she hoped that he would cure her sisters condition.
Xara let out a sigh inwardly as she came to stand at his side: "How are you going to help her?"
… Then you're willing to allow me?" Canaan gave her a surprised look as he spoke non chanlantly.
The way he spokee to her now was soft and warm, all the cruelty and evil she had seen in him were now completely absent, it was as if he was an entirely different person. Xara was pleasantly surprised, and yet the dark memorieshe had scared her with still sat at her.
She responded frigidly: "I want to see how you'll help her. If you are truly able to help her rise from her enterbal slimber then, I will be yours to do with as you see fit."
"That immutable fact was never under question; You will always be mine." Canaan said in a jovial tone, hiding the promise beneath. Xara stared distractedly at him. For what reason is he so obsessed with me!
"Take a few steps away" Canaan commanded as he fully focused on the slumbering Rhea.
Then, in careful motions he presses his finger on the ground around the crystal coffin and smoothly drew strange symbols on the ground.
Wherever his fingers passed, dark red blood escaped them. And with it as his medium he worked fervently until the ground of the crystal coffin was decorated in an eerie dark red.
"Are thise divine symbols… Don't tell me you understabd the divine language?" Xara's perfect brows raised Immediately.
Impressive, you are actually able to recognize the language of the true gods?" Canaan gave her a somewhat surprised look. In this universe, which was dominated by true and devil gods who held the powers of light versus darkness, two prime languages existed only. Those of divine bloood spoke the divine language, while those of demonic blood spoke the demonic tongue. Rarely did a true god understabd the demonic language, similarly very few devil gods understood the divine tongue.
This was because their minds and dispostions rejected the very nature of their opposing tongues. For a devil god, learning even a gew syllables of the divine language was a herculean task.
"I was taught by my sister. I also know that it is almost impossible for a devil god to learn even the snallest syllables. I detect an immesne and overpowering demonic energy sigbature from you. Just how....."
Canaan took of the abtruse gemstone as both his hands reach towards the crystal, like before ripples spread across the crystals surface as Canaans palm phased through it like a hand phasing through water, and slowly hung the gemstone around Rhea's neck within the crystal.
Canaan then relaxed and chuckled slightly: "On the contrary, when cognition and understanding reach a high enough level, one can understand that there is not that much difference between the two. The divine and demonic, lke night and day, are simply two opposing masses on the same scale. Identtical, but opposite."
"What is it you plan to do?" Xara asked again.
"I will purify her of her demonic bloodline and grant her a divine one." Canaan answered serenly, as if what he intended to do was completely natural.
Then his movement was exceedingly fast, so fast that Xara couldn't react. Before his hands left the crystal, they suddebly vibrated at a terrifying frequency. Suddenly, a web of cracks spread all over the crystal surface until it entirely shattered.
[Ping] With a shattering sound the crystal dissolved into fragments that vanished into the ocean as the silhouette within clamly descended through the waters.
Without any hesistation Canaan immediately caught her in his arms.
He whispered a strange incantation and something strange happened.
Slowly the whites of his eyes turned pitch black and devilish symbols began to wantonly dance across his skin.
In the middle of his forehead a pitch black imprint appeared and glowed darkly. Slowly releasing a drop of black blood that came to levitate in front of him.
This simple drop of blood released a frightening crimson black light that caused ripples to form upon touching space.
Canaan visibly paled a trembled after releasing this drop of blood.
This was because it was his dark blood origin.
As a young devil emperor he had not completely fused with his origin and power. That was to say that majority of his dark power was still concentrated in a singular point within his body. This singular point, was the first part of him to be created by the abyssal will, from it the rest of his body and soul formed.
And so it was called his dark blood origin.
Right now he was drawing it out, a heretical act that would result in areduction of his lifespan and an extremely large drop in his devilish power.
While he would regain the power he had lost after his body recreated another dark origin and fused with it, the lifespan he had lost would never return.
And yet, while completely aware of these consequences Canaan didn't stop, nor did he want to stop.
It was no longer about aiding Xara. Canaan suddebly found that he now possessed a great desire to see the sleeping beauty before him open her eyes.
Canaaan began to sing a string of incantations, causing the drip of black blood to move towards Rhea until it hovered right infront of her chest.
The abstruse gemstone around her neck glowed proudly in its demonic crimson, resonating with Canaan's own dark power as both existences, both man and gem, released an overpowering crimson light that overshadowed the entire realm around them.
"Rhea, you have righteous sister that never once forgot you. Even if its only for her, perhaps you should open your eyes once again." Canaan sighed next to her ear.
Then something bizzare occured.
The dark red symbols Canaan had drawn that had once glowed with a jarring crimson, changed to a serene silvery white. Suddenly, wisps of white mist slowly rose from the now bright silver symbols and arched towards the drop of glowing black blood , a blast of cold air was suddenly released through the waters, quickly lowering the surrounding temperature.
Then the drop of black blood began to change.
As if it was wailing, it rippled endlessly and released a tortured and frantic light. It was as if the drip of blood was sentient and it was undergoing the most horrible torture once could imagine.
Canaans expression briefly scrunched up in pain before it smoothed out again.
It took a few minutes for the slivery white mist to completely penetrste the drop of black blood, and during this process the drop of black blood resisted the perversion of the silver light at ever turn.
Unfortunately it's pitch black hue had become a dull Grey, then a dark sliver, all the way until it became a brilliant white.
The crimson light that had once filled the realm had been replaced by a pure silvery white light that filled every corner of space.
Within this light Canaan faintly smiled. One would notice that in regions that his skin had been touched by the light, intense burn marks wre left and yet his expression was filled with the gratification of success.
Then he watched as the single drop of blood sunk into Rhea's body...
