Canaan growled as he turned his haze towards Talia. In his intense rage a deep powerful killing intent unfurled from around him.
A primal shiver tickled he spine as Talia made eye contact with him.
'How....I'm obviously infinitely more powerful than him, so then why do I shiver a the slightest touch of his gaze!?' After freezing for a brief moment she remembered he identity as th greatest blood wraith scion and shackled Canaan's body with her immense aura.
"You will make no move! We will observe a little longer, should a regrettable situation arise I will handle it. While you are my beloved, you must know your place!" Talia declared.
As her words landed on Canaan's ears his violently widening eyes gnashing bones calmed somewhat as he forced himself into a rational state.
'She is right. I owe her this much trust.' Canaan finally decided as he returned to his trembling gaze to the developments of the stage.
He said nothing, however his deep hatred and killing intent radiated around him in nearly tangible gaze.
Seated a few meters way from both he and Talia, Lady Raya and lord Kaldur sensed their chaotic auras and favoured them with curious glances.
Then lord Kaldurs gaze returned to Konsul's display as a crafty light glinted within his eyes.
"Hehe, so this is the little monkey that dared to steal from me." Kosul sneered, a deep sense of self-satisfaction glowed within his eyes… as if he was very pleased with himself.
"As expected of the great young sea king, nothing occurs thay your eyes do not see through." Torzik's face also revealed a joyful smile, which then suddenly morphed into a furious one. He solemnly began as his wrathful eyes landed on Lothal: "Mortal! Whatever your identity is, or whatever reason drove you to commit this grave crime that the heavens themselves abore, know that you are now beyond any all and all mercy!!"
"Naturally there shall be no good end for him!" Konsul sneered.
The crowd of blood wraiths fell into chaos as they wantonly hurled down curses on Lothal. Although they were ignorant of his identity they were all aware that he was the one who had brought them disgrace.
In the royal section of the seats Canaan clenched his fist so hard that deep cracking sounds emanated from them. He had been plagued with an uneasy feeling since the beginning of the great wrath assembly and yet only now did he understand what the feelings he had been experiencing up until then meant!
As the blood wraiths rained down unspeakable and insulting remarks Konsul finally took a good look at Lothal.
As he sensed the precious blood pulsing underneath his skin an intoxicated expression appeared on his face. 'My royal brother will be ecstastic, he is indeed a human!' He thought.
At once, his eyes lit up and emitted a glow similar to that of an ravenous beast. The human race was extremely special. They had been created by neither Celestial god or decip emperor and no-one knew of their origin.
And yet their blood and flesh were the most mystical elixir.
Just by standing close to Lothal and sensing his blood he could feel the bottle neck that restricted his divine energy loosening.
Konsul forcefully swallowed a mouthful of saliva as his heart shook immensely… that Runan didn't lie to us after all! It is actually a live human and one with blood so potent at that.… After coming to this wretched house, I unexpectedly met what could be considered to be the greatest surprise. The heavens are looking after our great house after all!
"I didnt think a mortal ant would actually have the courage to steal from two devil god houses." Konsul laughed: "I really want to see....how you will endure me wrath.!"
"Hmph, to dishonour us...the house of Arzul who gave him sanctuary, he truly deserves to die a thousand deaths!" Torzik condemned with immense rage.
Despite Torzik and Konsul kicking up a big fuss, the the youth being held by his neck was unnaturally calm.
Perhaps because he had knwon from the beginning that since he was captured as a slave this would have been his only fate, perhaps his bottmoless optimism was his own selfish way of escaping, after all he knew the depths of devil god cruelty more than anyone, Lothal stiffly scanned the screaming crowd until he made eye contact with a rageful Canaan.
Then slowly...he shook his head:
[[From the beginning this was my only ensing]]
Despite being merely mortal and being separated by a nearly a mile the words Lothal meant to say were clearly transmitted to Canaan...and as was Canaan's fierce reply. [[No I do not accept this!!]]
Konsul then said with a disdainful and stern voice: "Mortal Cretin, do you have anything to say in defence of your worthless life!?"
Another terrifying growp ripped free of Canaan's lips as the malicious aura around him intensified, his fingers gripped the metallic armrest with such intensity that it had began to faintly change shape.
Lothal said nothing....
Rather he softly closed his eyes
That's right, he had long since prepared himself to meet the same fate as his brethren.
"Well then.." Konsul began...
"Wait…!!" At this moment Canaan stepped forward with a few steps and descened down the seating areas, attracting everyone's attention. His expression was eerily calm, almost respectful, but within his eyes hid a shocking Venom!
Amidst the noisy environment, Canaan's calm shout was clearly transmitted into everyone's ears, and even caused the great clamor within the palace to die down. All eyes turned at the same time to the origin of that voice.
His yell caused everyone to be stunned in place. Following that however, the gazes filled with shock were increasingly replaced by gazes filled with mockery and no small amount of disdain.
"Who the hell does this idiot mortal think he is?"
"He has a complaint? Just because he is the princesses toy he thinks he is able to speak here? Who does he think the people who are standing in front of him are?"
"Oh, I get it, the princess probably likes him because he makes her laugh, perhaps he is some sort of retard?"
"Heh, perhaps he just wants to steal some of the limelight. Heh heh, speaking out od turn is easy, but let's see how you handle the fallout now, friends..It's time to watch a show!"
"Oh?" Konsul naturally did not expect that there was someone who was willing to sing to interrupt hus momentum over a mere mortal; He turned around and casually measured Canaan with his eyes. In a voice that contained only a playful amusement and no anger, he said, "And you are?"
Torzik fixed his stern gaze upon Canaan and his expression suddenly became fierce and domineering. Then, he continued by saying, "Young Sea King, this person is also a mortal who actually has no relation to us. Moreover, he is only a mere toy who was taken in a few days ago by the princess. We have no idea where this fellow came from so please do not bother with what he is saying."
"Oh…so you are the famous mortal Prince consort?" Konsul indifferently glanced at him and sneered with disdain: "You shouldn't be thinking of making excuses for your friend, right?
Canaan bowed slightly and said with a smile: "Young Sea King, Great Sentinel lord. Allow me to introduce myself… I am the sole Consort of my lady Talia, a mere mortal who is a friend to the one you have just condemned. I ony have a few questions I want the ask the Sentinel devil lord concerning the stolen and subsequently recovered Celestial Moon Pearls. There shouldn't be any problems with this little request, right?"
"Canaan!" Torzik deeply uttered: "Today is a major event for our clan, it is not your place to interfere in anyway, but mortal or not, you are still the consort of our princess and that is the sole reason why you still stand after speaking out of turn. Apologize immediately for your offense, then return to your seat… Or else, even our princess would not be able to protect you from our law!"
Canaan was undeterred, with an indifferent and somewhat disdainful glance, he said without a change in expression: "I, Canaan, am not a blood wraith and i am indeed not a memeber of the house of Arzul, however at the very least I am the chosen one of your proncess which at least makes makes me more of a clan memeber than thie young sea king. And yet with a few casual words and actions he has already decided an internal matter our clan. However you shun my right to mere speech!? Sentinel lord, do you not think your words are funny?"
Once Canaan's jarring words came out, everyone in the audience instantly revealed shocked expressions, while all the devil lords who were a few hundred years old were all struck dumb into speechlessness.
"Insolence!!!"
Torzik became angry and bellowed: "Insolent brat! The young Sea King's words are worth gold, enlightening us, and he is the one who granted us the gift of the Celestial moon pearls as well. Who are you to compare to yourself to him? Since when did my great clan take opinions from namelss mortal wastes, you ridiculous fool, hurry up and scram! If you are to say another word…"
"Sentinel lord please" Konsul lifted up his hand to stop Torziks heated rant, he was still as calm as ever. "Great Sentinel devil lord doesn't have to get angry. He is right in saying that he is indeed closely stied to the house of Arzul. And as he has already stated, the one under trial is his friend. Why not listen to what he has to say?"
Konsul then turned to Canaan with a warm smile, however within his eyes deep cruelty glittered."Hehe", Im actually curious as to what you can find out with your questions."
"Canaan…" Lothal, whose face had long ago turned ashen under Torzik's grip, lightly uttered in an attempt discourage him. The response he got was Canaans unyielding gaze.
His eyes alone said:[[I will never allow this!]]
"That's good!" Canaan nodded as his gaze turned towards Konsul: "Sentinel devil lord i have a few questions to ask you first…"
Not waiting for Torzik's reply, Canaan had already began: "The first question… Sentinal devil lord, be it in your cultivation of your devilsih strength or intelligence, you have very few peers. Even more so, your temperament is steady and prudent. If not, you wouldn't be able to become the Sentinel devil lord. That's why....with your intelligence, after receiving such a great gift, the best course of action would be to keep it by your side and inform as few people as possible or give it to the king, because only when it's by the side of one of the strongest devil gods of our clan is it the safest… But lord Sentinel instead left it in the treasury and even went as far as to inform the the gaurds that there was an extremelyimportamt treasure in the treasury, as if you wished to draw attention to it, which could be said to be the most foolish course of action. Can the great Sentinel devil lord explain this?"
"You wretched thing! Are you insinuating that the grand sentinel lord of our clan would deign to frame this nameless mortal?" The Hell devil lord Tarsus suddenly bellowed.
The population of the the Godfall blood palace now stared at Canaan in surprise. Despite facing the pressure of two gold class devils his figure was straight and unwavering.
Lady Raya's interested stare, which had long since fallen on him began to slowly deepen.
While Torzik's face had indeed cramped momentarily. He raised his head to look at Canaan, faintly smiling craftily and said: "There's no need to get agitated, brother, we should do this mortal the favour of curing his ignorance before he is punished."
Torzik then turned his gaze towards Canaan. "Now listen carefully boy! The Celestial moon pearls are a primal artifact that release an extremely pure primal energy most devil gods can sense. Had I left it on my person I would have failed to mask its aura and word of its existence would have quickly spread, which may have invited trouble.
So I decided to keep it in the treasury instead and insulated its casing with devil blood jade, also the confines of the treasury are lined with the same devilblood jade, which is impermeable to to primal aura and would not allow it to spread. Boy, are you satisfied with thus reason!?"
Torzik's explanation was completely perfect. Tarsus suddenly yelled once more: "Canaan! Did you hear that clearly? The Sentinel devil lord left the Celestial moon pearls in the treasury was because of this important reason. Who would have thought a mortal ingrate would appear! What else do you have to say!?"
"Oh, oh! So that's it, this really makes perfect sense!" Canaan nodded his head respectfully, as if he was pleased with Torzik's words: "The sentinel devil lord sure is wise. But then, there is something i dont understand...."
