Chapter 9 - CHAPTER-9 The Search for Tsunade

After his return from the crater, Naruto found himself summoned once more to the Hokage's office. Standing before Hiruzen Sarutobi, he listened as the Third Hokage explained their next mission.

"Naruto, Akane, you two will accompany Jiraiya on a mission to locate and bring back Tsunade Senju," Hiruzen announced. "She is one of the Legendary Sannin and Konoha needs her medical expertise now more than ever."

Naruto and Akane exchanged glances before nodding in unison. "Understood, Jiji," Naruto replied.

Soon after, the twins met with Jiraiya at the village gates. The Toad Sage grinned at them, his hands on his hips. "Alright, brats, this isn't just a simple mission. We're looking for a woman who likes to gamble, drink, and disappear whenever she feels like it. This is going to take some patience."

Akane raised an eyebrow. "So, in other words, we're searching for a troublesome drunk?"

Jiraiya chuckled. "Pretty much! But don't underestimate her. Tsunade is one of the strongest kunoichi alive. If she doesn't want to come back, we might have to convince her by force."

Naruto grinned. "That just makes it more fun."

With that, the trio set off on their journey, unaware that their search for Tsunade would lead them into unexpected dangers, powerful enemies, and a fateful encounter that would shape Konoha's future.

### Encounter with Itachi and Kisame

A few days into their journey, Naruto, Akane, and Jiraiya arrived at a small town known for its gambling houses and lively night markets. They hoped to gather information on Tsunade's whereabouts, but before they could make much progress, a chill ran down Naruto's spine.

Akane sensed it too. "Naruto… something's off."

Jiraiya's easygoing demeanor shifted in an instant. "Stay close, you two. We've got company."

Emerging from the shadows of a nearby alley, two figures stepped forward, their presence sending a wave of unease through the air. One was a tall, blue-skinned man wielding a massive sword wrapped in bandages. The other, a man with raven-black hair and piercing red eyes, carried an aura of calm menace.

"Itachi Uchiha," Jiraiya said grimly, recognizing the man instantly. "And Kisame Hoshigaki. This is trouble."

Naruto clenched his fists, his Rinnegan flashing faintly. "What do you two want?"

Itachi's gaze remained unreadable. "We're here for Naruto and Akane Uzumaki."

Akane stepped in front of her brother protectively. "Like hell you are."

Kisame chuckled, resting his massive sword, Samehada, against his shoulder. "I like her spirit. But orders are orders. The Akatsuki wants both of you—the Nine-Tails jinchuriki."

Jiraiya stepped between them. "You're not taking them. Not while I'm here."

Itachi's eyes locked onto Jiraiya's, the Sharingan spinning ominously. "Then this will be… complicated."

Without warning, Kisame lunged, his sword cleaving through the air towards Naruto. Akane intercepted with a kunai, the force of the impact sending shockwaves through the street. Naruto retaliated with a Rasengan, forcing Kisame to leap back.

Jiraiya wasted no time, slamming his hands together in a rapid series of seals. "Summoning Jutsu!" A massive toad erupted onto the street, towering over the battle. "Naruto, Akane, don't hold back!"

The battle was on, and the fate of their mission hung in the balance.

### Clash with Akatsuki

Naruto and Akane moved in sync, their training evident as they coordinated their attacks. Akane summoned her chakra chains, lashing out at Kisame, forcing him to defend while Naruto rushed forward with a spiraling Rasengan. Kisame barely dodged as Samehada quivered, eager to absorb Naruto's chakra.

"You kids are feisty," Kisame said with a grin, blocking another attack with his sword. "But playtime's over."

He swung Samehada in a wide arc, sending out a wave of chakra-draining energy. Naruto leaped back just in time, but Akane's chains began to weaken slightly. Jiraiya, from his vantage point, was already forming a strategy. "Naruto, Akane, we need to disengage! Our goal is Tsunade, not fighting Akatsuki here."

Itachi's Sharingan flared. "That won't be possible." In an instant, he appeared before Akane, his fingers forming the dreaded genjutsu seal. "Tsukuyomi."

Before the illusion could fully take hold, Naruto's Rinnegan pulsed, breaking the genjutsu's hold on Akane. Itachi's gaze flickered with interest. "You are more troublesome than I anticipated."

Jiraiya took a deep breath. "Enough of this. If you want a fight, we'll take this elsewhere." He slammed his hand on the ground, summoning a massive swamp beneath Kisame's feet, trapping him momentarily. "Naruto, Akane, now!"

Naruto and Akane channeled their chakra, forming a swirling barrier that exploded outward, creating enough distance for them to retreat. Itachi and Kisame didn't immediately pursue, watching as the trio disappeared into the night.

Kisame grinned. "They got away."

Itachi narrowed his eyes. "For now."

### Regrouping and Moving Forward

Jiraiya, Naruto, and Akane finally stopped in a secluded area far from the town. Jiraiya exhaled, rubbing his temples. "That was too close. Akatsuki is making their move faster than expected."

Akane frowned. "They won't stop coming for us."

Naruto clenched his fists. "Then we'll have to get stronger. Fast."

Jiraiya nodded. "First, we find Tsunade. Then, we prepare for what's to come."

The mission was far from over, and the danger was only beginning.

### Arrival at Tanzaku Town

After days of traveling, Naruto, Akane, and Jiraiya finally arrived at Tanzaku Town. The lively town was filled with bustling markets, towering casinos, and a never-ending crowd of gamblers looking to strike it rich. The trio wasted no time, immediately beginning their search for Tsunade.

As they wandered through the streets, Naruto suddenly felt a familiar presence—one that didn't belong to a civilian. He glanced at Jiraiya and Akane. "I need a moment. I'll meet you at the next checkpoint."

Jiraiya raised an eyebrow but nodded. "Don't take too long."

Naruto slipped into a quiet alley and activated his sensory abilities, pinpointing the presence that had caught his attention. A shadowed figure in a hooded cloak stood waiting for him. The person knelt down, lowering the hood to reveal a familiar face—Tayuya, one of Orochimaru's trusted subordinates. However, to Naruto, she was something else entirely.

"Shadow-sama," Tayuya greeted with deep respect, keeping her head bowed. "It's an honor to see you again."

Naruto crossed his arms, his expression unreadable. "Tayuya. I take it you have something important to report?"

She nodded. "Orochimaru has made an offer to Tsunade. He wants her to heal his arms in exchange for resurrecting her loved ones with Edo Tensei. He's confident she will take the deal."

Naruto's eyes narrowed. "And you're certain of this?"

"I overheard their last conversation," Tayuya confirmed. "She seemed conflicted, but Orochimaru believes she'll accept."

Naruto exhaled, processing the information. "What of your position? Has anyone suspected you?"

"No," Tayuya assured him. "Orochimaru trusts me completely. He doesn't know I work for the Shadow Garden."

Naruto studied her for a moment, then gave a nod. "Good. Keep me informed. If Tsunade hesitates, we'll need to act quickly."

Tayuya smirked. "Understood, Shadow-sama."

Naruto turned, preparing to leave. "Stay in position and wait for my signal. If anything changes, report immediately."

With that, he disappeared into the night, heading back to regroup with Jiraiya and Akane. The search for Tsunade had just become even more complicated, and Naruto knew they had little time before Orochimaru made his next move.
