Fang Xiaocao, deep in sleep, was woken by a series of fine, crunching noises outside her door.
Groggily, Xiaocao picked up her phone and glanced at the time...
2:48 AM!
"Click, click..."
The strange noises entered her ears again.
Xiaocao's drowsiness vanished in an instant.
She rolled out of bed in one swift movement.
She quickly put on her clothes and shoes.
She placed all her self-defense weapons close to her body.
Xiaocao silently opened the door of the guesthouse's bedroom, moving with the stealth of a cat, tiptoed to the main door, and pressed her ear against it.
What Xiaocao was staying in was a suite.
So there were two doors!
Though called a suite, it was essentially a large master bedroom divided into two rooms.
A smaller room served as the bedroom, and the larger space outside was used as the living room.
"Click, click..."
The strange noises sounded once more.
Xiaocao's pupils dilated.
It was definitely the sound of tampering!
