It was dinner time when the rain started to fall.
The pitter-patter of the raindrops beat against the leaves outside the window, making a crisp sound. A gentle breeze carried the scent of moist earth and occasionally a few stray raindrops drifted over, wetting Shen Li's clothes.
Shen Li didn't know how long she had been standing there. It seemed that after ending the call with Shen Yu, she had run up to the large rooftop balcony. Staring blankly out the window until the rain truly began to pour.
"Miss Shen, your dinner is ready," the butler approached and said in a very low voice.
Shen Li's dinner time was always fixed, and she never needed a reminder; she would go herself when the time came. On good days, Shen Li would even tell the kitchen ahead of time what dish she wanted to eat, so they could prepare it in advance.
