Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Secret Pet Escapes

In the freezing winter, when water turned to ice, Mandara Manor was covered in a blanket of snow.

Early in the morning, a slender figure hurriedly squeezed through the snow-covered fence, panic-filled eyes beneath her disheveled black hair. The extreme cold of minus fifteen degrees did not slow her desperate pace.

She was like a frightened rabbit, with bare, delicate legs, her smooth skin marred by the fresh red scratches of tree branches. One foot roughly stuffed into an oversized men's leather slipper, while the other was red and swollen from the frost, she fell several times but quickly got up, rolling and crawling through the snow, using her hands and feet to flee.

Wrapped haphazardly around her upper body was an expensive mink cloak, her arms exposed and turned translucent red from the cold... Tripping over a tree branch, she tumbled into the snow. Beneath the cloak, the vibrant color of a mandrake flower bloomed on her skin, a symbol of hell and death.

At that moment, she felt no cold or pain, only one thought remained in her mind, to escape, to flee from this nightmare of the human world, to escape the clutches of the Devil.

She had painstakingly planned her escape from this place for a long time, enduring suffering, seizing upon this hard-won opportunity.

Off in the distance, a patrol car drove toward her. She screamed frantically, "Help, help me!"

The patrol car sprayed up a wave of snow as it quickly came to a halt.

Dragging her injured leg, she desperately crawled toward it, "Save me, please, I've been imprisoned, I've been drugged, I've been abused, take me away from here..."

Speaking in broken English, she explained incoherently, as if teetering on the brink of collapse.

The two policemen followed her footsteps back, and a white majestic castle stood proudly amidst the snow, a symbol of luxury and supremacy. Every resident here was among the world's wealthiest.

"Ma'am, please show us your identification," the policeman asked formally.

"I don't have any, I was... I was kidnapped, I have nothing, just take me away from here. Treat me as a smuggler, a swindler, a murderer. Anywhere but here," Xia Yanxin pleaded incoherently.

After hesitating for a moment, the policeman said, "Alright, ma'am, please get into the car. We'll take you to the station!"

Xia Yanxin climbed into the car shivering, the car's heater warming her frozen limbs. She huddled up tightly, feeling her soul return to her body as the sinister castle, like a monstrous creature, disappeared behind them. Tears of relief welled up as a month-long nightmare finally came to an end.

Suddenly, a black Rolls-Royce sped up from behind and surged to the front, arrogantly blocking the road in front of the police car. The police were unable to stop in time, and the front of their car crashed into it... After the violent collision, they came to a stop...

A tall figure emerged from the black Rolls-Royce, his wild and imposing figure tightly wrapped in a black Italian suit. His handsome face, with deep contours and dark, abyss-like eyes, glinted with a hellish light. Behind him, hundreds of strong bodyguards in black surrounded the police car, the barrels of guns faintly visible beneath their sleeves.

It was him, Long Yutian. He had caught up so quickly. She had stabbed him in the heart, why was he still alive? No, she didn't want to go back!

"Officer, she is my beloved wife. I'm sorry she has caused you trouble. I'm going to take her back now," he said with an evil smile, his hand steadily holding the car door.

"No, no, it's not like that, I'm not his wife, I don't know him," Xia Yanxin said, terrified, gripping the car door tightly to keep him from opening it.

"This lady just told us she was kidnapped! And she's also suspected of smuggling. We need to take her in for routine investigation. Please cooperate with our work," the policeman said, with an obviously deferential attitude.

"I'm sorry, my wife has some mental issues, often speaking nonsense. Oh, here is her green card, her identity card... and the diagnosis from a psychiatrist," he chuckled evilly, tossing a stack of "documents" to the policemen with a suave gesture.

"Sorry for the trouble! Ma'am, please go home with your husband," the policeman said after checking the documents and opened the car door for Xia Yanxin to get out.

"No, I'm not his wife, I've known him only a few days, how could I marry this pervert? Those documents are fake... I'm a terrorist, I traffic drugs, I've stolen things, please arrest me instead of letting me go with him…"

Xia Yanxin was on the verge of madness, she had never imagined Long Yutian could be this sinister and ruthless...

Shaking his head, the policeman looked at her with pity, indicating his powerlessness.

A strong hand yanked open the car door with force, and like an eagle snatching a chick, he dragged her out...

"Bang"—she was unceremoniously thrown into the Rolls-Royce. As the door closed behind them, the once smirking handsome face instantly turned cold, his eyes filled with bloodshot menace, his hand gripping her chin tightly as he spoke in a low, sinister voice.

"Babe, you have nowhere to escape! Even in death, I will drag you out of hell to join me in degradation and perdition!"
