Uncle Pan laughed heartily, serving a master with a good appetite brought him quite a lot of joy as a chef. Qiao Xia loved to eat and wasn't picky – she even enjoyed some of the 'dark cuisine'; last time he made mango dumplings, and despite Auntie Pan calling them a disaster, Qiao Xia had relished every bite.
He felt a great sense of accomplishment.
He really liked that about Qiao Xia; she'd just say what she wanted to eat without any courtesy, she was the easiest to please.
As soon as Uncle Pan and Auntie Pan left, she heard the sound of a car. Qiao Xia thought Mu Liang had come back, but it turned out to be Fang Manning. She didn't like Fang Manning much, always feeling that Fang Manning's gaze towards her was unkind, and she wasn't especially welcome.
