"You and Big Bull, you've pretty much made him your guardian angel," Madam Xie said.
"Haven't you always nagged at me, saying Big Bull is a good, honest, and simple-hearted man, and you want me to marry him? I'm just following your orders, mother, and trying to cultivate feelings early."
Madam Xie couldn't argue with Xuexue; she just pursed her lips, shot her a playful glare, and then turned to go back to inserting willow branches.
"Pfft!" Xuexue giggled quietly.
Late at Night
Everywhere was shrouded in silence; Madam Xie and Chuner were sound asleep.
Suddenly, a cold breeze blew into the room. Xuexue, who was in a deep sleep, shivered and abruptly awoke. She squinted her eyes, glanced at the pitch-dark room, turned over, closed her eyes again, and prepared to go back to sleep.
A shadowy figure floated leisurely in front of the bed, and in a mournful voice called out, "Master."
