Chapter 318: The Shattered Divine Position of the Angel God
Du Qianjue had been on Douluo Continent for over twenty years, and there was one thing he would never forget.
He had been summoned from Earth as a reinforcement by the consciousness of Douluo Star. Although the way they pulled him over was a bit rough, he had to admit that his life over the past two decades had been pretty comfortable.
There was no dramatic life-or-death journey, just smooth sailing with careful planning and overwhelming power.
And along the way, countless romantic encounters.
Except for the very beginning, when things were a bit uncertain.
But now that he had grown into his power, it was time to fulfill the promise he made to Douluo Star. His strength had already reached the level of a first-class god, and since Douluo Star's plane consciousness didn't reject him, he could clearly see the small space deep within the plane, where two powerful beings were locked in a struggle.
Calling it a "struggle" might be a bit of an exaggeration, as it was more of a one-sided suppression by Douluo Star's consciousness over Tang Hao.
Back when Ah Yin was still alive, Tang Hao and Ah Yin worked together, trying to seize the plane's consciousness and the life core. They caught the plane off guard, and as it was busy dealing with multiple threats, it had no choice but to let Tang Hao slowly erode its power.
But when the Golden Ancient Tree went berserk, Ah Yin and the tree were both fed to Xuanzi. Since the plane itself couldn't die, the Golden Ancient Tree would eventually be reborn.
But Ah Yin, who had attempted the takeover, had no such ability. When she died, she was truly dead.
Tang San could only use divine power to forcibly resurrect her soul, but with her soul in such a shattered state, even Tang San, with his crude and rough techniques, couldn't bring her back to life. The idea of resurrecting her fully was pure fantasy.
It's hard to imagine the despair Ah Yin must have felt—being constantly suppressed by the Golden Ancient Tree, all while watching her body and the tree being devoured by Xuanzi.
Now, the only remaining threat to Douluo Star's plane consciousness was Tang Hao, who still lingered in the plane space.
Du Qianjue had taken the time to investigate how Shrek had been destroyed, and he had a good grasp of the general events. Coupled with Xuanzi's descent into darkness, he could more or less piece together how Shrek had met its end.
The Golden Ancient Tree was gone, and Ah Yin was definitely dead.
All that was left was to finish off Tang Hao. Once he did that, his promise to the plane's consciousness would be mostly fulfilled.
Since the plane wouldn't reject him, as he was its chosen one, Du Qianjue easily crossed the space and arrived within the plane's space.
As usual, the plane space resembled an ocean of laws. Various powers, almost tangible, flowed everywhere, and the foundational rules of Douluo Continent could be felt in their purest form.
Du Qianjue didn't rush to kill Tang Hao. Instead, he curiously explored the space, absorbing the atmosphere.
This wasn't his first time here.
When he first crossed into Douluo Continent, the first place he arrived was the plane space, and he saw the same scene back then.
At that time, his soul was stronger than an average person's, but it was still at a mortal level. He couldn't understand what he was seeing, and due to the barrier set by the plane's consciousness, he couldn't fully grasp the laws within the space.
Luckily, the barrier was there—otherwise, if he had taken even one more look, he would have exploded.
No joke.
Laws of this level are something even the strongest Douluo could barely comprehend. Only beings like Di Tian could even come close to understanding the rules and laws.
If a regular person had tried to observe them for too long, they wouldn't have understood much, but they definitely would have had their minds overwhelmed by the higher-level powers.
As a god, Du Qianjue didn't have to worry about that anymore. In fact, the ever-changing powers within the plane space only accelerated his mastery of divine power.
These foundational laws, birthed at the beginning of the world, were of immense benefit to him.
While exploring the sea of laws, Du Qianjue came across some intriguing sights.
Any powerful individual, having grown within a particular plane and bearing its imprint, would leave behind traces of their growth and powers. These would become part of the plane's nourishment.
To his surprise, Du Qianjue discovered traces left behind by many powerful figures within the plane space.
The most impressive by far was a massive, multicolored pillar of light that seemed to pierce through the entire sea of laws. Even as a god, Du Qianjue could only look up in awe at this mark.
A multicolored light pillar, the strongest imprint within the entire plane. There was no need to guess who had left it.
It was the Dragon God.
Only the original Dragon God could wield such incredible power, and since Douluo Continent was once its home, its imprint naturally remained here.
In fact, the birth of Douluo Star's plane consciousness was largely due to the Dragon God's overwhelming power. Had the Dragon God not died so early, the plane consciousness might have evolved even further.
Apart from the Dragon God's massive imprint, Du Qianjue also noticed two other traces of law.
Both of these were blue-gold in color, exuding an aura of light and the sea. One belonged to the first Sea God, Poseidon, and the other to the second Sea God, Tang San.
Poseidon's imprint was clearly thicker and more defined than Tang San's. This made sense since Tang San had inherited the Sea God's position rather than forging it himself, so his imprint wasn't as strong.
Around Tang San's imprint, there was another faint trace of blood-red law. If Du Qianjue hadn't looked closely, he might have missed it.
"Is that… the Asura God?" Du Qianjue muttered to himself.
The reason for his uncertainty was simple: if Tang San's Sea God imprint was already weak, the Asura God's was even weaker.
Thinking it over, it made sense.
Tang San had taken a very straightforward approach to enhance his Sea God position, harvesting the faith of both the continent and the sea for thousands of years. Using the power of faith, he had forcibly raised the Sea God's divine position.
He had hardly gained any personal insight into the god's powers.
On the other hand, Poseidon was the original creator of the Sea God position, the first to ascend. Even if he was cunning and deceitful, he had still put in some work on the surface.
But Tang San had just fooled the people of Douluo Continent, who were, admittedly, quite ignorant.
For a thousand years, Tang San had kept the people of Douluo Continent under his control, suppressing anyone's chances of becoming a god and interfering with the continent's development to gather more faith.
This manipulation was far from the Sea God's ideals of acceptance and light. It would have been surprising if Tang San's insight surpassed Poseidon's.
And Du Qianjue had already ruined this thousand-year-long scheme. Nowadays, Tang San had little faith left, as most of the people worshipped Du Qianjue instead.
Aside from a few loyalists in the Clear Sky Clan, the Sea God's family, and some hidden sea creatures, Tang San's sources of faith had been completely cut off by Du QianJue.
"Well…"
Soon, Du Qianjue noticed a few more traces of law. One was a faint golden trail, emanating kindness, acceptance, redemption, and light. Another was a dark purple trail, radiating madness, evil, slaughter, and devouring.
"Angel God and Rakshasa God?" Du Qianjue understood with just a glance.
The golden trace, which represented the Angel God, wasn't as solid as the others. Instead, it seemed somewhat vague and dreamlike.
In contrast, the dark purple trace, representing the Rakshasa God, although not as thick, remained solid.
This might have been because the Angel God's divine position was shattered by Tang San, while the Rakshasa God, Bibi Dong, was simply killed, leaving her divine position intact.
"So... why is there only one trace for the Angel God? Didn't Qian Renxue also inherit the Angel God's position, rather than create it herself?" Du Qianjue pondered as he studied the Angel God's trace.
In his contemplation, a few golden specks of light caught his eye.
"What's this…?" He blinked and instinctively reached out, grabbing the light specks into his hand.
As soon as the light touched his hand, an incredibly familiar sensation surged through him. He had just absorbed the Dragon King of Light's dragon core, so he recognized this feeling instantly.
It was the power of light.
Du Qianjue´s eyes widened in shock. "Is this… the shattered divine position of the Angel God?!"
Realizing the possibility, he quickly focused on the Angel God's trace, unleashing his chaotic divine power to carefully search along the trace through the sea of laws.
Over time, more golden specks of light gathered in his hand.
With his gaze focused, his powerful divine senses meticulously searched every inch of the trace, and from time to time, more light would fly out.
Eventually, the small specks in his hand had coalesced into a glowing golden ball of light.
After thoroughly searching the entire trace, Du Qianjue withdrew his divine power and senses, staring at the golden light in his hand with a thoughtful look.
This was the shattered divine position of the Angel God!
It was precisely because of the Dragon God's far-reaching rule imprint that the consciousness of the Douluo Star plane was born. If the Dragon God hadn't died early, the plane's consciousness would have developed much faster.
Besides the Dragon God's thick rule imprint, Du Qianjue also noticed two other rule imprints.
These two were blue-gold in color, emitting an aura of light and the sea. They were left by the first Sea God, Poseidon, and the second Sea God, Tang San.
Poseidon's blue-gold rule imprint was clearly much thicker and clearer than Tang San's. This was because Tang San inherited the Sea God's position from someone else, rather than cultivating the divine position himself. As a result, his rule imprint wasn't as clear.
Around Tang San's rule imprint, there was another blood-red rule power. If Du Qianjue hadn't looked carefully, he would have instinctively overlooked this rule.
"Is this... the Asura God?" Du Qianjue muttered uncertainly.
The reason for Du Qianjue´s uncertainty was simple: Tang San's rule as the Sea God was already weak. He hadn't even achieved the same level of accomplishment as Poseidon, let alone surpassed him.
And yet, the Asura God's rule was even weaker than the Sea God's?
However, upon reflection, this made sense.
Tang San's method of raising the Sea God's position was extremely crude. He simply harvested the faith of Douluo Continent, both from the land and the sea, for thousands of years. He forcibly raised the Sea God's rank using the power of faith.
He had almost no personal insights of his own.
Poseidon, on the other hand, was the creator of the Sea God's position and the first to become a god. Even though Poseidon himself was deceitful and hypocritical, he still went through the motions.
But Tang San really treated the people of Douluo Continent as fools, though, to be fair, the people of Douluo Continent were indeed foolish.
Tang San raised Douluo Continent like livestock for thousands of years, suppressing people's ability to become gods while interfering with the continent's development to harvest their faith.
Such actions were far removed from the Sea God's values of acceptance and light. It would be strange if he could comprehend the Sea God's position better than Poseidon.
Moreover, Du Qianjue had destroyed Tang San's plan. Now, there wasn't much faith left in Tang San on the Douluo Continent. Almost all of it had shifted to believing in Du Qianjue
Apart from the Clear Sky Clan and the Sea God family—two human forces—and some diehard followers in the sea that Du Qianjue couldn't find, Tang San's sources of faith had been completely cut off.
"Well..."
Soon, Du Qianjue noticed other rule imprints. One of them, a gray-white color, gave him a strong sense of familiarity.
This made him realize that this gray-white rule imprint belonged to him, representing his insight into the power of chaos.
Du Qianjue was surprised to find that his understanding of chaos was not inferior to the blue-gold Sea God imprint left by Tang San!
It was worth noting that at this time, his divine power level was only that of a third-class god, with only his divine sense reaching the level of a first-class god.
And yet, even at this level, he could match Tang San?
Amazing!
Then, he looked at a few more rule imprints. One was a faint golden color, radiating compassion, acceptance, redemption, and light. Another was a black-purple track, exuding madness, evil, slaughter, and devouring.
"Angel God and Rakshasa God?" Du Qianjue immediately understood.
The golden imprint representing the Angel God wasn't as solid as the others but had a dreamy, unreal quality. On the other hand, the black-purple imprint representing the Rakshasa God, although not as thick as the Angel God's, was still solid.
Perhaps this was because the Angel God's divine position had been shattered by Tang San, while Rakshasa God Bibi Dong was only killed by Tang San, without her divine position being shattered?
"So then... the question is, why is there only one rule imprint representing the Angel God? Didn't Qian Renxue also inherit the Angel God's position? She didn't create it herself, either," Du Qianjue pondered as he examined the Angel God's rule imprint, lost in thought.
As he contemplated, some specks of bright golden light caught his attention.
"What's this...?" Du Qianjue blinked and instinctively reached out to grab the specks of light.
The moment the light touched his hand, a very familiar feeling surged through him. He was well-acquainted with this sensation because he had just absorbed the dragon core of the Bright Holy Dragon King, so he remembered it clearly.
It was the power of light.
Du Qianjue eyes nearly popped out of his head. "Is this the shattered divine position of the Angel God?!"
Considering this possibility, Du Qianjue immediately turned his attention to the Angel God's rule imprint. Powerful chaos divine power surged out as he carefully searched along the Angel God's rule, which ran through the sea of laws.
As time passed, the number of golden specks in Du Qianjue hand gradually increased.
His eyes focused intently, and his immense divine sense carefully scoured every inch, occasionally causing a few specks of light to fly out from the rule imprint.
Eventually, what began as a few scattered specks in his hand had gathered into a mass of bright golden light.
After thoroughly searching the entire rule imprint, Du Qianjue withdrew his divine power and divine sense and looked at the golden ball of light in his hand.
