Everyone looked at Martinely. The bang was so loud to come from him smashing the table. It was clear for all to see that it was not broken. That smash could not have caused the vibration and rumbling that threatened to bring the building to the ground.
The floor shook and they opened their hands wide trying to balance themselves. Martinely who had a triumphant smile faded as he saw the ground crack. He knew that he did not even have the strength to break the table.
The guards all got their weapons ready as the all turned to face the entrance. Well, the door was still closed but it was different. There was a larger entrance and the white cloud covered the wall.
But they could see the upper parts of the wall that were already chipped off. The cloud settled slowly and then the entrance came into view. They could not understand what was the cause of the wall being destroyed.
It was likely that it had been bombed. But they did not see the bomber or bombers. It did not take them long before they saw two dark figure appearing from the white cloud. They ordered all people to fire.
Bullets rained at the broken wall and there was another white smoke that appeared at the entrance. They fired until they had all emptied the first mags. They all waited for few seconds as they watched the smoke die down.
"Did we get'em?" Miller asked.
"Not even god would survive the attack. Let the meeting begin," Martinely said as he sighed relieved that Miller did not get to bask in his small victory.
They were just about to turn when they saw the two shadows were still there. The shadows were already getting through the entrance. They all could not help but wonder whether these people were humans or really shadows.
Then, from the smoke came two figures. Many did not recognize the two but the two men Miller and Martinely did. They were usually well informed and they were there fifty years ago.
Martinely was the first to lose his composure. He knew that their fate was sealed. Dan the assassin who had ran rampant fifty years ago and threatened their organization.
They had managed to put him down by killing him but how come he had survived? He could feel his heart beating in his throat.
"Impossible!" They both spoke out shocking everyone in the room.
Miller was not slow and he had the same thoughts as Martinely. They also recognized the masked man. He was the newest assassin in town and he had just killed two of the top assassins of the number one assassin organization in the planet.
The shocking part was that he had kiled them just after he had gotten employed. That was not to mention the number of their people he had killed before they had employed him.
They did not know how much he could accomplish but they were sure that they were not getting out of this alive. They guards could not just understand why their bosses were losing their composure.
Were these not just two guys? Why would they have to be that scared? But the number advantage they had made them lose their composure. They knew that just how many people were in the lower floors.
For the two to have reached this height, did that not mean that they had killed them all?
"Fire," the two leaders commanded. Though they knew it was futile. This was Dan with guns.
He was a little fearsome than Dan with swords. Still, he never missed a headshot. Rumour had it that he could shoot bullets. That was nonsense. They opened fire and the bullets all aimed at the same place.
Dan stepped forward and he raised his two pistols. Then he pulled the triggers.
"Oyee kid. I want you to use that move from before. I will buy you time no meed to fear for bullets getting to you," Dan said as bullets met bullets.
It was a beautiful yet fearsome at the same time. It was like his bullets were faster and stronger. It was possible for a bullet to collide with two. The ones who were at loss were the leaders.
This was what was usually feared about Dan the assassins. Normal bullets could not work on them. It was rumoured that they could even evade the rain of bullets. They felt like a hot spear had been pushed through their chest as they watched their men drop.
It was then the rest were catching up. Dan the assassin! They knew too that their fate had been sealed. But they were focusing on the wrong guy. The real threat was right behind him.
Marx knew just how powerful his skill was but its problem was the time required. Luckily for him, Dan bought him that time. He smiled as he jumped up and rotated with a tornado kick.
This time, he did not let the laser shoot after three turns but after four. The circular laser expanded outwards.
"Go down Dan," Marx said even before the laser was shot.
Dan obliged and he fell on his knees despite the stones one the floor. Still, his bullets still met the other bullets and none of them got to reach Marx. Some bullets reached the enemies taking them down.
At the moment, he had taken down twenty of them. The laser shot outwards in a flash and those who had done what Marx had said and went down were the only survivors.
Of all those who had gotten down, ten were from Martinely and around fifty more from Miller. The two, Martinely and Miller had been saved by the rumbling that had shaken the chairs and they were just breaking.
It was then the effect of the laser became clear. Everyone who failed to get down was cut into half. The upper bodies slid past the lower bodies and blood coated the floor. It was like a pool was forming around them all.
The laser hit the walls and charred them black. The survivors were caught offguard by the laser effectiveness. This was to mean that all of them could have been dead. They realized their mistake of ignoring the masked man.
Many of them usually got into gruesome scenes but never had they seen one like this one. They never had bewn the victims. They were yet to digest what was happening and that was their mistake.
Dan already stood up and was already killing them. In seconds, even before they could stand up, around twenty were dead. They still made the mistake of ignoring the masked man.
The gun appeared in Marx's hands and he joined in the killing. With him joining, the guards did not stand a chance. They tried to shoot at them but the distance was long and enough for them to dodge. Their accuracy also dropped.
In seconds, only ten were remaining. These ten were Martinely's men. They removed their guns and too started firing. But they still over estimated themselves. None of them had the comfidence that they could do the same yet they were starting to fire at them.
Their shots were fast and accurate but all those that came at Marx ended up missing. This was due to the fact that Marx could see their shots even before they were fired. Marx was the first one to take one of them down.
His bullets were tuned at 45⁰ but their speed was ywi6ce that of Dan and the ten. The first person was lady. She died after a headshot. She dropped dead and Dan too dropped another of them. It was a guy.
The remaining eight appeared tensed. These ten had enough confidence that they could take down all the 300 men brought by Miller but they were being taken down by two. They put up a fight but they just prolonged their deaths.
Marx fired onve6 again. He had just springed himelf upwards and fired midair at a man. The guy just saw a blue flash come at him and he dropped dead. Dan was not left behind also and he killed three of them consecutively.
Miller and Martinely watched with horror but it was not visible from the glasses they were wearing. The four remaining men watched in horror as they lost their cool. They became shaky and desperate and they just watched as their neighbour dropped dead.
The last guy received two bullets. One from Dan and the other from Marx. Marx rolled forward as he stood up next to Dan. Dan smiled as he walked forward towards the two men.
There was no need for words and Dan did not hesitate to kill them his own style leaving them headshots. They went to the briefcases and each took one. They tried to open them but it was impossible.
It had a computerized lock and could only be opened using two steps verification which included a password and eye scan. Dan gave up on his and left the briefcase but Marx needed to know what was inside the briefcase.
" Can you open them?" Marx asked.
The system scanned the locks and Marx was told to point his finger at the lock. He did so and a red glow scanned the lock. A needle formed on his finger and pierced into the lock.
The needle branched inside the lock and the lock flickered with a red glow as it opened. Marx opened the briefcase and whatever was inside he could not tell what it was. It was a cube.
He did so for the next lock and there was another cube inside it. This caused Marx to raise a brow. The cube had similar properties to those of the cube he had absorbed energy from.
Dan came to take a look but the system took the cubes in and stored them into the inventory. Marx deactivated his helmet and smiled at the curiousity stricken Dan.
"We will find out soon enough what these are," Marx said and he ignored Dan who was growing even more curious.
Marx went to the wooden boxes and opened them. It was time for a loot.
