The cry caused the chief to look at her but she had already resigned. Where could you find a man who was willing to kill everyone who hurt you? She could tell from his affirmative voice that he could. A proud smile appeared on her face. Her daughter had really found her true man. But she was having another premonition.
"Should I kill them all?" Marx asked coldly. She had her hands on his chest clutching on his shirt. She lifted her head and looked at his serious face. She was sure that there was no doubt in his words.
"Can you?" She asked her eyes glistening. Even her father could not make such a speech.
"I would not mind killing anyone who hurts you as long as you agree with it. If you give me the permission, I will kill them instantly. Should I?" He asked. Everyone heard that but thought that he was bluffing and they even laughed at him. Making false promises in your deathbed.
" Kill half of them," she said firmly. Marx was caught off guard by her reply. Her voice showed no hesitation.
"You sure you want half of them dead?" Marx asked to confirm. He also did not mind killing all of them in the first place. He was just not sure if it was going to be okay with her.
"I have never wanted anyone any more dead. I could even ask you to kill all the men in this village," she said releasing all the emotions she had been suppressing for a long time. These words hurt the men the most.
Were they not doing this in order to have a chance at having her? Yet, she just wanted them dead! They grit their teeth in anger as they waited for Marx's reply.
"If you say so," he resigned and turned to face the rest of the men.
The one who was shaken the most was the her mother. She had never heard her daughter make demands like that. Though she used to show dissatisfaction, she never said that she wanted all the men dead.
Just how pressed on the corner was she? Did the society do this much damage to her young heart?
"You heard her. If half of you just step forward and let us end this quickly. I even bet that she does not want to live here again. Who dares?" Marx asked with a grin.
The men did not hesitate as half of them stepped forward. Marx looked at Mia for the last time. He was sure that this was not what she wanted.
" I won't do something that you will regret," Marx said to her. She came to him and took his hand.
" Take me away from this place then. I am sorry if it goes against your policies to kill them. But you have nothing here, just take me away, please," she pleaded.
" I would have killed them long ago for they have already crossed my limit. I just don't want you to make a bad decision. But just to show you that am not bluffing, I will take down a few," Marx said as he brushed her hair.
She nodded as she saw him raise his arm and point it forward. He clenched his fingers Into a fist. He then gave her one more glance and she saw his wrist change. Three narrow tube like structures appeared infront of his wrist.
She just saw a blue light that shot from the three tubes. The three lights cut through the air and shot at three guys who were just watching the lights bewildered. They never saw such a thing.
Marx never aimed for their vital points for he did not want to kill them. If he killed them, it would be hard later for he was not going to change the culture using brute force. He had to touch their hearts. That was the only way. The three bullets shot at their shoulders.
The three felt no pain at first when the bullets pierced them but after a while they dropped on their knees screaming in pain. Everyone stopped and stared at the three. Mia looked at Marx horrified. Just what monster had she just encountered and brought home?
He had brought three to their knees without even taking a step. It was clear that that was not the extent of his ability. If he wanted, he would just have killed the three of them. But they were still alive though in pain. She also understood that when he said he had the ability, he truly had it.
"They need urgent medical care or they will die in after half a day. Go fetch the herbs I tell you and treat them. If not they will die," Marx said seriously. Even after hurting them, he still cared about them. He asked the system about the best herbs that could be found in this place and he told them.
But no one moved. Instead, they all stared at him with angry eyes. They wanted to all charge at him and cut him to pieces. They just hesitated because he still had his fist pointed at them and the three tubes were still pointing at them.
They watched as the two on the side disappeared into his skin leaving the middle one.
" I don't mind killing one person to prove that I am serious about this. Who wants to test it for the others?" Marx asked and they all stepped back. But it is important to note that there is always a mad man or a woman in every market.
"All you cowards. Don't dare back off. How do you even say that you are worth of her if you back off with a single threat? We need to avenge our brothers. All of you step forw..." The guy was still in the middle of speaking when he stopped and fell forward.
His head facing to his right. Blood trickled from his forehead. His eyes showed shock and his mouth was still open. He never felt a thing when he died. All those who had taken a step backwards took two forward.
"We must avenge them! Kill him. Charge as a group," a guy said.
Marx had thought that they would back off but they just got riled up. They were just muscle brained. He needed to make an even greater impact. Everyone watched as his gun appeared in his hands.
They stopped charging when they saw it. They had never seen such a masterpiece. It was very beautiful. They did not expect that it would be dangerous. Marx tuned to 360⁰ and instead at pointing at them, he pointed at a house.
He pulled the trigger and fired. The house did not stand a chance. Even the ground had a twenty meter deep crater. One could not believe that there was a house there a second ago. Even Mia was stupefied. No matter what, they would not believe their eyes.
It was just impossible. Luckily, Marx was considerate and had scanned in the house to make sure that there was no one in it. He would not just kill innocent people at whim. Even the chief who had shown no reaction all this time stood up.
How could they not just understand what was happening? He was the first one to go to his knees followed by his wife. The rest did not even hesitate as they all fell on their knees. Even Mia could not just keep standing as she fell on her knees.
Marx could not just understand them. How had they all just changed from attacking him to worshipping him? Were they this afraid of power that they would bow to power at will? What was happening?
"Messanger of the gods, forgive our rudeness. We are not worthy to stand in your presence. We beg you to not report our misbehavior to the gods. We are ready to accept the verdict," the chief said humbly.
" Forgive us messanger of the gods and give is our verdict!" The rest said loudly but humbly. Even Mia was no exception.
Marx was at loss. Why had the system brought him to this place? He was just in the middle of doing his mission and the next minute, he was a messanger of the gods. He scratched his head awkwardly. The only god he knew was called JahGod.
He had never met this god in his life. Yet here, he was a messanger of the gods. He needed to know how they came to conclude that he was a messanger of the gods. It was too hilarious.
"How did you recognize me?" He asked to test them.
It was the chief's wife who spoke. She did not raise her head though.
"The prophecies have been fulfilled, it is time for the changes to happen as it was written," she said. The men seemed to be shivering. Marx wanted to hear this prophecy.
" Which prophecy?" He asked.
" Years ago, one of our female prophets had a vision. It has been passed down from generation to another. It was supposed to only be passed to the ladies but the men somehow caught wind of it," it was Mia who spoke. She seemed to be the happiest together with her mother.
" What are the details of the prophecy?" Marx asked. The men seemed to shiver even more.
"On that day he arrives, he will cause a stir. He will have the power never witnessed before. The ability to split the ground. The ability to take a life without moving. He will bring the oppressor to justice. But in order to achieve it, he will have to make a sacrifice," her mother said.
Marx looked around and saw that even the female maids had knelt from far. So this was how seriously they took the prophecy. Messanger of the gods, he laughed inside but he could tell that this mission had something to do with this prophecy.
The system was still hiding things from him. Why was it that the events were just as predicted? A prophecy? Something was very within his grasp but he could not yet piece it together.
"Please uphold justice for us," came the voice of all ladies in the nearby vicinity. The men grit their teeth as they knew that they were in trouble.
