After looking at the time, Asta looked at Ratsujin's sleepy face for some moments. His eyes were locked on his son's face. It was like the time had frozen, and Asta had turned into a stone statue. He did not make any movement at all. He just kept on looking at sleeping Ratsujin's face.
Asta gazed at his son's face for a whole thirty minutes before making a single move. He gently placed his right hand underneath Ratsujin's neck and put his left hand underneath Ratsujin's knees. He was so careful and cautious that he did not even make the slightest sound or make any rush movement that could disturb his son's slumber.
"Let's sleep..." Asta spoke into his mind as he slowly stood up from his knees and carried the sleeping Ratsujin in his arms.
"Haaaaaaa...." With a deep silent, breath, Asta took his first step towards Ratsujin's room.
"Tak..."
"Tak...."
"Tak....."
Asta's footsteps were echoing throughout his house even after he was walking so cautiously. He stood right before Ratsujin's room door with Ratsujin in his arms. Asta slowly extended his left hand to grab the door handle and gently unlocked the door.
After unlocking the door, Asta retrieved his hand and used his left knee to open the door gently.
"KEEEEKKK!!" The door made a noise as Asta's knee touched it, but luckily, Ratsujin did not wake up.
"TAK!" With a gentle step, Asta walked into Ratsujin's room. He was being the most careful in the world just so that his son can stay asleep.
Asta stood before Ratsujin's bed. He first hovered Ratsujin over the bed in his arm, and then he gently lowered Ratsujin till his hands, and Ratsujin touched the bed.
After placing down Ratsujin on the bed, Asta carefully pulled out his arm underneath Ratsujin's arm, and then he pulled his other arm from Ratsujin's knees.
As soon as Asta freed his arms, he gently put a blanket over Ratsujin. He was looking at his son's face while placing a blanket over him.
Asta looked to his right as he placed a blanket over Ratsujin. He was looking at the digital alarm clock on the table next to Ratsujin's bed. Asta grabbed the alarm clock and noticed there was an alarm set for the morning.
"TIK!"
The alarm turned off by itself without even Asta having to do anything. He was just simply holding it in his hand. As soon as the alarm was dismissed, Asta placed the clock back to its original position, but he did not just put the alarm clock on the table. He also placed Ratsujin's new watch that he just gifted him. Asta turned around after placing both watches on the table. He decided to leave Ratsujin in his room.
Suddenly, Asta felt a warm touch on his left-hand index finger. He slowly looked down and saw a hand holding his index finger. It was Ratsujin's hand.
Asta thought Ratsujin had woken up. He slowly looked back at Ratsujin and saw the confusing sight. He saw that Ratsujin was still in his slumber while holding his index finger.
Ratsujin had grabbed his father's index finger in his sleep. It was not a reflex of his body that hand grabbed Asta's finger. It was the affection and the bond he has with his father that even in his sleep. Ratsujin managed to locate his father's finger and grab it so he could not leave him.
Asta smiled as he saw Ratsujin was still sleeping. He looked at his son's sleeping face for a few minutes before kneeling next to the bed. Asta also did not try to free his finger. He extended his hand closer to his son so it would be easier.
Asta sat next to the bed while his left hand was on the bed, and his eyes were watching every breath Ratsujin exhaled. He was ready to spend an entire night sitting on the ground for his son. He did not wanted to free his finger cause there might be a chance that could cause his son to wake up from his slumber.
Suddenly, Ratsujin released Asta's finger and shifted to the other side of the bed.
As soon as Asta's finger was freed, he stood up and gave his final goodbye with his eyes to Ratsujin before leaving Ratsujin's room and closing the door behind him.
