Lou Ben head towards the dungeon that was originally called the undead trench.
At the same time Steward Wen Guoliang was talking to Master Xiao.
"Master Xiao, I think this time's progress is going well!" He smiled as he cupped his fist as a sign of respect towards his master.
"Oh, Steward Wen Guoliang, It is only a matter of time before we claim our spot as a righteous clan." Master Xiao Weizhe was looking up at the clouds of enchanting clouds that hovered beside the bookshelves inside his office room.
"Have the arrangements been completed?" He questioned Steward Wen Guoliang.
Steward Wen Guoliang smiled and nodded: "Master Xiao, with the current climate of the village and the emergence of the undead trench, nobody was able to notice our movements."
Master Xiao nodded his head and sent Steward Wen Guoliang off.
Meanwhile Lou Ben had made his way back to the second floor boss where he ended it in a draw.
This time he was alone, he felt safe this way since he was able to understand that the dungeon was not directly meant to kill, but to challenge the individual to become their most true self.
It was a gold mine to people like Lou Ben.
He took a breath to focus on his Starry Mind and read Steward Wen Guoliangs notes on breaking through the peak stage of the atmospheric condensation realm and entering the early stage of the foundation establishment stage.
He was focused on the technique called "Star recollection" ; it uses the powers of the sun in order to tune the body with more of the yellow energy inside his meridians.
Lou Ben sighed: "Looks like it's going to be some time before I am able to continue cultivating."
"The time should be around ten to twenty years before I enter this new realm anyways."
This was the reason why Lou Ben decided to go through the dungeon, if he was going to take ten to twenty years to move through his cultivation then he might as well spend some months inside the dungeon to refine his mental state.
Right now he felt like although he had a certain desire to get stronger, right now that's all it was.
He summarized his feelings as strength only being a vehicle, but right now he didn't understand why he was inside the vehicle to begin with.
"What is the use of power without direction, it's like on earth, if you are rich but have no direction, what's the point of having so much money?"
Lou Ben was not rich in his past life but he was content with his belongings, he had children that he knew were worth more than mountains of gold.
If he didn't have them then he would feel that this past life was meaningless.
This time however he didn't want to rely on his children to satiate his desire.
He was focused on being selfish, he wanted to be the one driving the vehicle of power and directing it towards his own goals.
He thought this as he arrived and opened the door to the third floor of the dungeon.
It opened to a large open space, there was no light, but that wasn't a problem for people like him, those who can use the dao energies and create powers like Atomic search that allowed him to see in the dark.
He walked into the unimaginably large open space and looked across towards the horizon and saw a large tower, it seemed large, but in his vision it was small since it was extremely far.
The floor of this level was rigid and full of cracks that seemed to fall into the depths of the unknown, even with his technique active he could not see the bottom of these valleys.
There were mountains on the perimeter of the room, it seemed like he walked into a small world.
He had only walked a single case of stairs and saw a huge world of desolate rocks laid in front of him.
Far into the distance just before the tower was a lake, but this lake didn't seem to be full of water but a thick substance that glistened as if fireflies were stuck inside.
Lou Ben mentally sighed: "Looks like the objective of this floor is to make it to the tower so I can enter the next floor."
*BOOM
A large explosive cloud of dust covered Lou Ben as he saw that in the distance, one of the large mountains was crumbling and moving towards the lake that he had to cross.
"Great, there goes the easy time I had in mind."
When the dust settled there was not undead but this time he saw figures of knights blocking the path towards the tower.
To call them knights was an underestimate because they were not fully covered in iron, they resembled mortal warriors, just the same how Lou Ben was dressed when he came to this world, but there was a different aspect he saw inside them.
Their skulls were inflamed with dark flames and their swords sparkled with energies.
These were dao masters who specialized in weapon techniques!
Lou Ben sighed and wondered how he was supposed to confront an army of dao masters.
He looked around and a rock-like forest sprouted in front of him and covered his vision of the horizon; he was no longer able to see the tower in the distance, nor the lake.
He was now inside a thick forest with jagged logs of earth.
He looked around and saw that not too far from him on his right side was a stone like cabin.
Lou Ben focused his attention: "This must be a sort of checkpoint. At the very least since it's so close, then it must be where I should start my journey towards the tower."
He walked through the dangerous forest and a few times the sharp edges of the rock made trees tore open his arms and legs.
Eventually he made it to the cabin and let out a breath of air.
Now was the true test of this floor.
He recollected what he knew about this dungeon and thought this cabin should have some sort of special condition to help get rid of the army of undead knight dao masters.
He opened the door that was shaped the same as the floor entrances.
A bright light engulfed him.
His technique Atomic Search was deactivated.
"Space technique - Atomic Search!" He tried activating it again but he was met with backlash and spit out a lump of blood.
He quickly waved his sleeve and grabbed a healing crystal to heal his internal injuries he sustained from the backlash.
A green light surrounded his figure and the crystal he held turned into dust and became pure energy for heaven and earth to recollect.
"I can't use any techniques here!" Lou Ben yelled internally.
He was at the mercy of whatever this cabin had in store for him.
A bright light blinded Lou Ben, this time it lit up his surroundings.
There was nothing.
He was inside an empty space that was filled with bright light, but when he looked around he was unable to find any sort of landmarker or checkpoint for him to walk towards.
This emptiness reminded him of when he was a floating soul reliving his past life without being able to escape or make any changes.
He was now Lou Ben, but he felt so powerless in the face of this mysterious cabin that swallowed him whole.
He was indignant, he understood his powerlessness, he saw it laid bare in front of him.
Lou Ben gritted his teeth: "Come then!"
"If this is my death, then come!"
He was unhappy but knew this was just the way the world works, the weak die and the strong reign supreme.
A bright figure in the shape of a human approached Lou Ben: "Oh Lou Ben, you have still not realized your true self."
Lou Ben sneered: "Who are you to tell me?"
The figure laughed: "Oh Lou Ben, you still have not realized?"
"This world was meant for you to show me your courage in the face of regret!"
"Of the countless worlds I could have sent you to, I sent you to a near collapsed world to show me."
"You came here ready to die, this is good, but are you truly ready to die?"
Lou Ben opened his eyes at this bright figure that radiated like the sun: "Of course I am not ready to die!"
"I still have yet to find my path!"
The bright figure smiled, although Lou Ben could not see it, he felt the smile penetrate his soul: "Oh Lou Ben, If I were to take your life right now what would you do to stop me?"
"In the face of power we reign supreme, you found this out, even if you harnessed the power within this world, what would you do?"
"Oh Lou Ben, Yes you are on your path to discover your true self and inner ambitions, but so what?"
"What about the countless other living beings?"
"What makes you special?"
"Why did I give you the chance to show me that your past life was only a lesson?"
