Wallace walked down the hallway towards the woman's office. This time, he already has a white glove on his hand and the glove is just disintegrating at a very slow pace. It looks like it will last six months before it turns into scrap from the weird ability of his hand.
The lady who introduces herself as Lucy Hale is the leader of the mage organization in this city. She also comes from the main city that has the empire in it, she was transferred here to be the leader. He learned that the mage root is what allows the mage to absorb mana. The one hundred percent purity means that he has the highest grade of mage root. Some mage roots with inferior quality absorb and refine the mana in the air which makes the mana refining slow and also less effective but he will be able to absorb mana directly and his mana will be very effective and his mana consumption will also be very low. After the middle-aged man explained everything to him, he followed Lucy back to her office.
She opened the door and they entered the fairly large office with bookshelves, a large table, and a chair with two chairs on the other end and a couch on the side of the room.
"Do you have any parents?" She asked as she sat down on her chair.
"I don't know, I met myself in the lab you met me and I've been tranquilized most of the time. It should have been over six months" he answered.
"What were you doing before that time" She asked.
"I was in a mysterious place with some other kids" he lied. She frowned her face.
"I will register you," she said.
"Ok" he nodded his head, he knew that she did not do it entirely out of goodwill, his talent was the main reason she was doing all this for him. If he didn't have a mage root, she would have just tossed him to one of the receptionists but it's a good thing because, with her connection, he would be able to do a lot of things. She smiled.
"You wait," She said as she walked out of the room. Thirty minutes later, she walked back into the room and handed him an ID card.
"Officially done," She said as she handed him an ID card.
"Thanks," He told her.
"This is an ATM containing one million dollars" She handed him a card and told him the pin.
He took the card from her and she also handed him some books on the basics of magic and a manual on cultivation techniques.
"Thanks," he told her as he smiled.
"You're welcome, you're still a small boy so if you need anything or have any problem, Martins and I are here for you," She said.
"Ok," he nodded his head. He could not help but smile, he thought that complications would arise because he is still a small boy but it looked like nothing of that sort would happen, he has been given his apartment though he will still be monitored but it was not as bad as acknowledging a fake mother. She also seemed to understand what he was going through so she did not bring up the topic of being his family. As long as she maintains a friendly relationship with him, it's good.
"I need some things," he said as he gave her a list of the blacksmithing equipment he needed.
"You want to learn blacksmithing" She asked.
"Yes," he answered.
"Ok I'll send the equipment to you and also the manual on the basics of blacksmithing," She told him.
After almost three hours of being in the mage organization, he finally left the mage organization. The moment he arrived outside the building, a car pulled up in front of him and a middle-aged man came out from it.
"Young master, I'm here to take you to your home," the man said as he opened the door for him.
"Hmm," he nodded his head as he entered the car.
"Looks like these are some of the perks of being talented," he thought as the car drove off. After almost three minutes of driving, the car pulled up in front of a villa in the sparse space of the city where there were only villas. The gate of the villa opened the car drove in.
"Welcome home" He was told.
"Thanks" he got down from the car.
"Do you need any maid or cleaner?" The man asked.
"No need, I'm quite ok" he answered. The man nodded as he also got down from the car and followed him into the house. After some minutes, he already got the layout of the house. It is a three-bedroom villa.
"I will be outside in case you need anything" he was told and the man left. He went into his room and took a shower before going to the freezer in the kitchen and he opened it. He saw a couple of raw foods in the freezer. Everything looks familiar and he can manage himself. He took out some ingredients and went to the counter that was just like his height which made it comfortable for him. He chopped up the ingredients prepared something for himself and ate before walking out of the house. The driver Jeff also came from the house.
"Where are you going?" The driver asked.
"I need to go to a cloth store" He answered.
"Let me drive you there" the man offered.
"Is it far?" he asked.
"No" Jeff answered.
"Let's walk there" he answered. The man could not help but be amazed at the maturity and cool-headedness displayed by the ten-year-old boy. Most bodies of his age will always take time to indulge themselves in the fantasy of a rich life. Wallace mainly wanted to walk out because he wanted to know more about the time in preparation for the quest that required him to level up to level ten in three months. He later learned from the system that the energy is in living beings so there is a chance that he has to kill and absorb the energy. Thankfully there are beasts he can experiment with so he wants to know more about the layout of the city so he can plan accordingly since he needs three months to be able to level up to rank 10 and also the race section is baffling him.
"What am I if I'm not a human?" he asked himself many times but he did not get an answer yet and would like to know before he went to the magic school that Lucy told him about.
"Tell me more about this city," he asked Jeff as they walked out of the house.
"The city is not very complex, the inner city has mainly three-story and four-story buildings connected, they are mainly for the average resident while the core city consists of main castles, villas, and bungalows which is where you are currently living. There are local police forces that keep watch over the city and also the mage association to deal with anything the police can't deal with. Jeff told him.
"Apart from these two, there's also the outer city but it's called the harbor of crime. The outer city also known as the slum is designed for the families of those who betrayed the kingdom once and those whose identities are not known, there's little to no order in the slums so I will advise that it's a place you should not go because there are rogue mage occasionally wandering about and it's not strange to run into them, they will be able to sense that you are also a mage so we don't know what might happen" Jeff told him.
"Hmm" He nodded his head in affirmation
"Outside the slum is the train station and the endless wilderness that has beasts that can easily bite a human head off.
By the time they finished talking, they already arrived in front of a clothes shop in the core city.
"The Jeff's" Is what's written on top of the plaque of the cloth shop, he could not help but look at Jeff strangely before he walked into the shop.
"What can we do for you two" A beautiful lady in a a black suit stood at the entrance and looked at the two with her eyes trailing more on Wallace. Wallace has long black hair falling down his shoulder and with a delicate but sharp face, his jaws and chin give the impression that they can cut through anything. He has fairly large eyes and long eyelashes with fair skin while his eyeball even though they are dark has a golden hue to them and look like they are crystallized, this is a result of awakening his mage root. This coupled with the dress he is wearing and the white gloves on his hand gives him the air of a rich beautiful young master. There is no doubt that he will grow up into a fine young man.
"We are here to get wears for someone of his size" Jeff answered and he pointed at Wallace and the latter was led into the inner part of the shop.
