Chapter 32 - CHAPTER 32: LESSONS

"There are two main parts a mage can take: support and attack. The attack part is mainly divided into fighter and ranged attacker. The fighter is also divided into two: the close-range fighter and the long-range fighter. The close-range fighters use their strong body, which arises from the fusion of elements into their body, and also a lot of skills to engage beasts, while the long-range fighter also uses weapons like bows and arrows and throwing knives. These attackers usually have mental abilities like telekinesis and other obscure abilities. The ranged attacker is further divided into two: the physical and the mental attacker. The physical attacker uses elements to attack, while the mental attacker directly attacks the consciousness of other attackers, and there are many classes like illusionist and other classes like that."

"The class you choose depends on your elemental and physical ability, so tell me your abilities," she said.

"Nonsense, all these classes are for those who use mana for their mental attack, but you don't need mana; you can directly use your spiritual force, so you can take all these classes together," he heard Box (the voice) talk in his head.

"I can control ice, lightning, and wood elements," he answered. "And also space-time," he thought in his mind.

He saw Catherine frown her face. "Apart from these elements, I can also directly utilize my mental energy, so it grants me abilities like telekinesis, force-field, and dream-like abilities," he told her the last part. Her frown smoothed when she heard about the first two mental abilities because they are very strong abilities, but her eyes widened when she heard the last ability.

"Dream-like abilities," she said with wide eyes.

"Yes," Wallace nodded his head.

"The legendary dream abilities that can form another realm where they will drag their enemies' consciousness into or directly kill their enemy from a dream," she said.

"Hmm, but I've not reached that stage yet; I can only construct a dreamscape that makes my cultivation and comprehension ability for now," she said.

"How much faster?" he asked.

"Twice as fast as the outside world," he answered.

"You are too blessed," she answered.

"There's also a dream affinity mage in our empire, but he is out on an adventure, and it will take him almost two years to come back, so I can only guide you in other abilities you have," she said.

"I must say a close-range combat is not good enough for you based on your element, but based on your physical capability, it's the best. You can't simply reveal your physical capability to people, so you can choose long-range attacker," she said.

"Both elemental and physical, since you can control the rare ice element, which can allow you to attack with it, and also lightning element, but you can't control that, but you still have telekinesis that can be used to control arrows and throwing knives, and also arrows if you have good weapons," she said.

"What weapons do you have? Lucy told me that you are once in a thousand years blacksmith. I saw one of the metals you forged, and I'm very surprised. You will forge weapons for me," she said.

"Yes, of course, I have my own set of weapons," he answered as he swiped his finger, and ten small knives floated in the air.

"You are controlling ten knives, so your brain vigor must be ten," she said.

"Hmm," he was confused.

"Brain vigor is how many percent of your brain you can utilize; I can currently utilize nine percent of my brain, so you can see how rare your ten is," she said.

"Hmm," he nodded as head as those ten knives moved in the air along different arts and also made different series of movements.

"And I have this," he said as he took out a bow. Samantha's face showed when she saw the bow; the elemental fluctuation from the bow is simply too absurd.

"Too genius," she thought.

"This is an arrowless bow," he said.

"Hmm," she's confused; she has never heard of any bow that does not utilize an arrow. Wallace drew the bowstring and directed the mana in his body into the arrow. The mana passed along the circuit passage that has already transformed into an ice elemental passage and also condensed into an arrow on the bow, and the arrow kept getting more solid and sharp with each mana he imbued till he released it.

It rushed towards the wall of the training room and pierced into the wall, going in three meters before it shattered, and the wall froze.

"Good weapon," she said as she looked at the wall.

"Can you forge me one? I will pay you," she said.

"You are my mother; of course, I will naturally forge you your weapon, but not now. I must reach the magico realm; that's when I will be able to fully use my forging capabilities. As for now, what I'm forging are inferior" he told her. Her mouth twitched when she heard that; what most mages are fighting for is what he calls inferior.

"Ok, I will be expecting your superb weapon then," she said.

"Don't worry, you won't be disappointed," he answered.

"We've seen the full extent of your ability and your weapons; let's see the attack abilities you have," she said.

Wallace brought his right hand up, and water molecules that transformed into ice rapidly emerged on his hand, forming a six-sided shield. Ice knives also formed in the air. He also transformed it into a whip.

"Tsk," she clicked her tongue.

"Finally, I've found something you are not good at," she said as she smiled. Ever since she arrived, Wallace has been surprising her, which made her subconsciously forget that he is just a ten-year-old brat.

"Your ways of elemental control are too brash and flashy," she said.

"Since you can control ice, why can't you control water to attack?" she said.

"Because it's usually useless," he answered.

"Yes, water is mostly useless, but why must you condense ice before you attack? Will the enemy wait for your ice to finish condensing? No," she answered.

"You have to be in motion before you prepare your attack; this will give you a lot more opportunities and ways you can control your mana and the ice element around you," she answered.

"For example, you can just shape water into a form of small pikes and direct it towards your enemy; then, on the way, since your mana is in them, you can transform them to ice, which will make them rapidly accelerate and hit the person," she said.

"You can just use a thin film of water and direct it towards the left chest of your opponent; then, you will make the thin film of water on their side turn to ice. First, they might not see it on time, and the thin line will pierce through their chest and kill them."

Wallace nodded his head as he was suddenly opened to a lot of possibilities.

"Why form knives? Is it that you want to use ice element to clash with your enemies' fire sword or your enemy's earth shield? You can't do that; apart from freezing, ice has the best penetrative ability after we remove light. Just a thin line of ice can pierce through the flesh, and the line can be strengthened with mana. Ice is not meant for clashing but for killing and freezing, and water is meant for control. You must make sure there is enough water molecule in the surroundings of your fight, maybe underground, on the floor, and in the air. With that, you will be able to burst out with terrifying unaware attacks. The advantage of water is that it is present almost everywhere, almost on par with earth, so you can burst out with terrifying attacks, not the crude way you are controlling it," she said.

Wallace's mouth twitched when he heard what Lucy just pointed out. His mind was opened to a lot of possibilities, and he simply could not help but call himself stupid for just utilizing the ability.

"What about your wood elemental ability?" she asked.

"I think the greatest advantage of the wood element is when I'm inside the jungle; I can use it for movement, attack, defense, and also to heal," she said.

"At least it's great you did not say that wood element is only used for healing," she said.

"I'm not that stupid," he thought as he frowned.

"By tomorrow, I would have arranged for a pot of small trees to be placed here, so I will drill you on your ice ability one day and also on your wood ability another day till you become proficient in utilizing them," he answered.

"We can't go around with you just using your superior physical ability to bully mages. You are a mage, so you must act like one," she said, as the days of grueling training started.
