"Dad, Mom, your son is back!"
Shen Yuan flung open the door and yelled, as usual.
Li Hongjuan was sitting on the sofa watching television. On hearing the noise, she turned her head and said, "You rascal, not even a heads-up before you come back. Have you eaten?"
"It's past 1 PM; of course, I've eaten."
Shen Yuan replied, waving his hand.
Old Shen took off his glasses and squinted, "Why are you coming back at this hour? Didn't you have classes in the afternoon?"
"No classes."
Shen Yuan casually made up an excuse, thinking to himself that he hadn't attended classes in almost a month. If he had to go now, he probably wouldn't even find the classroom door.
Li Hongjuan took half a honeydew melon from the fridge, cut it open, and handed Shen Yuan a piece. He took it and began to devour it voraciously, finishing a slice in no time before wiping his mouth with a napkin.
