Cousin Shen Wei served as the Deputy Chief of Public Security at Guansha Police Station, which was about a half hour drive from their location.
Shen Yuan had called in advance, asking him not to eat yet. Upon arrival, he first parked the car on the roadside space, and then he and Shen Xuan carried three dishes, a soup, and two rice portions into the police station.
Shen Wei had been waiting at the entrance. Seeing his cousins approaching, he came forward with a smile and greeted them,
"Little bro, little sis, it's kind of embarrassing to have you deliver food on the day of Uncle's birthday."
Shen Wei was tall and strong, and his police uniform gave off an aura of authority. Shen Yuan joked upon seeing him, "It's only proper; the younger ones respecting the elders."
"You little rascal, making fun of me for being old, huh?"
Shen Wei pretended to be upset and put on a stern face.
"Hi, Brother Wei."
Shen Xuan greeted him with a smile.
