Serena paused for a moment before asking, "What about your ex?"
"What about my ex?" Aiden repeated, his brow quirking in question.
"Are you asking me? I'm asking you," she shot back. "I know you're only mine, but if you were to meet one of your exes and act all comfortable with them, I'd still feel jealous. So, have you been in touch with any of them? Would you look at any of them again?"
Aiden stayed quiet for a beat, his gaze drifting before he finally slanted her a look. "I do have a few exes," he admitted casually, "but no one serious enough to remember. Not even the woman I almost married."
Serena's eyes widened, her curiosity spiking. "You almost married someone? Did you propose to her? Did you kneel down and everything?"
Aiden sighed, running a hand through his hair as if to push away the weight of the conversation. He had just thought he could avoid walking into this trap. Yet here he was, not just walking into it, but jumping headfirst.
