"Are you alright?" Serena looked up to see Sidney striding towards her, concern etched on his face. Immediately, she stood up, suspicions rising. How did he know that she was here? She had not informed anyone as yet. Not even Aiden. Before she could ask, Sidney grabbed her shoulders, giving her a quick once-over, eyes scanning her for any harm.
"The blood?" he asked, his voice tight, betraying his fear.
"It's not mine," Serena answered coldly, her tone clipped. She shifted slightly in his grasp. "Let go of me."
Sidney didn't seem to register her words. Instead, his arms wrapped around her suddenly, pulling her into a tight embrace. "You have no idea how scared I was when I heard you'd been under attack," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "You've only just returned, and the thought of something happening to you again..."
