Chapter 135 - Lie

Aiden had lied to her. As he drove back to the house, a heavy sense of defeat settled over him. He realized he hadn't been entirely truthful—not just to her, but to himself as well. Deep down, he had indeed fallen for her. His grip tightened on the steering wheel as conflicting emotions churned inside him.

Never had he expected to fall for someone, especially after building walls around his heart. Yet, last night, when he learned she had met Sidney and regained her memories, it struck him how deeply he cared. He shook his head, trying to dismiss the thoughts clouding his mind. Perhaps he was mistaken about the depth of his feelings; after all, she was the first woman who had stayed in his life for so long.

For now, he decided to put aside questions of love and focus on what truly mattered: protecting her and standing by her side. But how was he supposed to do that when she wouldn't let share anything with him was beyond him.
