Just as Magic Artifacts have ranks, cultivation techniques naturally have their ranks as well.
The lowest are called 'Skills', which involve only one type of Skill, a simple Verse of Instruction for cultivation. These correspond to the lower class of the Embracing the Void Realm.
Better ones are termed 'Art', which are collections of various Skills that can construct a complex system to aid each other in cultivation, increasing speed and efficiency, enhancing strength. These correspond to the middle class of the Embracing the Void Realm.
The majority of inherited cultivation techniques in the Tianyuan Realm are of this level, like Nian Quan's 'True Spirit Eye', which has an entire set of Pupil Skills for cultivation and skill application, including 'Clairvoyance Skills', 'Eagle Vision Skills', 'Slow Vision Skills', 'Spiritual Light Vision', etc., to build a complete system of Pupil Skill Art.
