"In the film industry, there really is no worst, only worse," Zhang Hangnian crossed off a movie, leaning back in his chair, "Writing this review is going to offend people."
He sighed softly and walked out of the study to get a drink of water.
His wife had gone on a trip with her daughter and brother-in-law's family, leaving only him and his elderly father at home. Normally, the two of them didn't cook, and would just make do with something to eat.
In the evening, he was busy watching films and had no appetite. After bringing back food, he'd left it on the table and went upstairs to work, usually his father should be watching TV by this point.
As he walked into the living room, he glanced over and noticed that the takeout was untouched. The lights were off; his father was sitting in front of the television, which seemed to be showing a war movie.
