"Yes, mission accomplished!"
After hanging up the phone, Wang Fului's expression was more solemn than ever before. Glancing at the sky outside, he immediately climbed out of bed and quickly got dressed, his police uniform included, and went to the neighboring room.
"Du Juan, hurry, get up, urgent mission!"
"Du Juan, Du Juan!"
It was still dark outside, and the small inn was quiet. Wang Fului's voice broke that silence, naturally prompting protests from other guests.
"What's the matter, uncle? I had just fallen asleep!"
"Hurry up Du Juan, urgent mission, we don't have time to dawdle."
Five minutes later, Wang Fului, dragging a still groggy Du Juan, rushed out of the small inn that mainly hosted passing drivers and road workers.
The coolness before dawn helped Du Juan to sober up somewhat. Pushing the electric bike, back onto the bumpy road, Du Juan couldn't help but ask again, "What exactly happened?"
