This place is Old State.
According to Zhū Mián, a long time ago, this area was quite populated and even had thriving trade; its favorite pastime was to shrink itself and then blend into the shadows of traveling merchants to see the sights with them.
At that time, Zhū Mián was young and in its mischievous phase.
But at some point, traces of the Land of Yin and Darkness appeared in Old State, and many living people, for various reasons, strayed into it.
From that time on, Old State was abandoned.
Then, as if time had accelerated, traces of human activity, which should have remained regardless, began to disappear; after all, the tombs of kings and nobles can last a thousand years.
Yet within a mere three hundred years, most traces of the past inhabitants of Old State were erased.
