Lu Guan Pavilion.
Adjoining the Qin Xuan, merely five zhang to the east, this multi-storied building was reserved by Mo Da for entertaining guests in a quiet and elegant environment.
Zhao Rong had initially been curious about the origin of its name, but after hearing from Feng Qiaoyun, she learned that the name was chosen by Master Mo Da, inspired by a homophonic play on the "Reed Pipe Song."
Derived from Cen Jiazhou's "General Pei's Mansion Reed Pipe Song."
As it said: "Alas for the new reed pipe, so clear and yet so sad, a melody that ripples like the wind overflows at sea's end. The sea trees barren, frosted by the heavenly rain and frost, the pipe's sound desolate and clear beneath the vast cold moon."
The sorrow and desolation within the reed pipe's sound, the undulating waves of grief, and the far-reaching sense of melancholy were indeed fitting.
