"Mr. Chen, are you going to Nevada?" Melanie asked as she sat in the police car, looking at Chen Yu sitting in the passenger seat. She couldn't help but ask.
"Yes, that girl Veil has had a tragic life. I want to go help her, and wasn't Veil Marks placed in an orphanage?" Chen Yu nodded.
After coming out of the farm, Melanie had received news from Nevada that Veil's father, that beastly excuse of a man, had drunk himself to death outside in the winter two years ago.
That was indeed a cheap end for that animal.
Poor Veil was placed in an orphanage, her father had debts he couldn't repay, and all property was seized to cover the debts, while Veil's mother disappeared without a trace, seemingly indifferent to her daughter's fate—it was suffocating.
Melanie sighed. Veil was indeed placed in an orphanage in Nevada, but for a girl of her age who had experienced trauma, whether she would be adopted was another matter.
