Suddenly, a feeble woman's voice emerged slowly from the darkness nearby.
She was wearing thick, black clothes similar to a raincoat, her head covered with a hood that concealed her face, only revealing that she was not very tall and seemed to be shivering.
In her hand, she was leading a few small figures, all standing outside of the firelight in the shadows, seemingly her children.
"So cold... please, have mercy... let me and my children come warm ourselves by the fire..." the woman begged weakly, with her head lowered.
Lin Xin looked at her pulling her children in the dark, her hood over her head lowered. Her children were also looking down, their faces not visible, and they were silent... so silent they almost seemed not alive!
He didn't know why this thought suddenly occurred to his mind, but involuntarily, that's the word that came to him.
