The flint went out too quickly for Lin Xin to tell if the person was male or female; he could barely make out an outline. All he remembered was that the person's mouth was open very wide, extremely wide, as if undergoing some form of desperate agony.
Faintly, he thought he smelled a light scent of decay, and it seemed to waft over from the person next to him.
"It's a corpse...." A chill went through his heart. He moved as far away as possible in the carriage from the corpse. Although he wasn't afraid of the dead, he didn't want to be too close to a body that might have been lying in this carriage for who knows how long.
The carriage seemed to start moving.
Lin Xin felt his body lean back slightly as the speed of the carriage suddenly increased.
He reached out to try and open the carriage window, but the window was jammed shut, refusing to budge. The wooden window felt ice-cold and solid to the touch.
