Lin Fei jogged at a steady, unhurried pace, occasionally stopping intentionally to listen for any sounds behind him, confirming that someone indeed followed before continuing to run forward.
He headed towards quieter areas, gradually delving deeper into the park. He considered his own tracking and counter-tracking skills extremely poor, although his excellent physical condition provided him with keen senses. Yet, he hadn't expected to encounter a rookie even greener than himself.
After several twists and turns, he stopped in a spot surrounded by gardens, his body turned sideways, where the dim, yellowish light of a streetlamp further highlighted the quietude of the area.
"So you're Lin Fei?"
Lin Fei turned around abruptly.
From the shadows, a tall man with his hair standing on end and a silver earring dangling from his right earlobe, slowly stepped forward.
"Who are you?" Lin Fei asked with a look of puzzled anxiety. "I don't know you, sorry, I'm going home."
