After much effort to communicate with the nurse, the man finally managed to go back inside.
Fei Li had already fallen into an exhausted sleep. Her breathing was even, clearly too fatigued to stay awake.
The man tiptoed to the bedside, silently seated himself, then gently grasped Fei Li's hand, bowing his head as he continually kissed the back of her hand, tears uncontrollably streaming down. He sobbed silently.
He dared not imagine what life without Fei Li and Tom would be like. They were the pillars of his lifetime.
After a good while, he stopped his tears and let go of his wife's hand.
Suddenly, his gaze landed on the nightstand beside his wife's bed. There, a small note was held down by a warm cup. It seemed to have something written on it.
He suddenly remembered those people who had saved his wife.
Hurriedly, he reached for the cup and took out the note.
"Lin You... Merrill... Chris... Bob, morning…" he read out softly, and then behind the note, there was an address.
