Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Master Wang Faints

Liang Fei wanted to return home to farm, and this idea truly shocked his parents.

Having suffered poverty in the countryside for most of their lives, they knew well that staying in the countryside led to no prospects. However, limited by their abilities and compounded by Father Liang's chronic illness, they couldn't help their son escape the farming life but instead felt they burdened him. This was a source of great guilt in the hearts of Liang Fei's parents.

Nonetheless, Liang Fei already had plans. Now that he possessed the "Shennong Scripture," he wanted to develop a grand venture in his hometown, which was definitely an easy task!

After comforting his parents for a while, Liang Fei began his first step of the plan—testing the planting of some vegetables on his family's land to see if the Immortal Lake Water could indeed dramatically improve the quality and taste of the vegetables.

The family's farmland, due to his father's illness and his mother's disinterest in management, was essentially in a semi-abandoned state. When his mother had free time, she would grow some vegetables for the family to eat, selling any surplus in a nearby town market.

Seeing the newly sprouting green peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers in the vegetable patch, Liang Fei made up his mind to first test the effects of the Immortal Lake Water on these plants.

He had already administered some of the Immortal Lake Water as medicine to his father. Now, Liang Fei went to retrieve some more from his Cultivation Space and watered the vegetable garden with it.

Seeing their son silently start watering the garden, his parents exchanged worried glances.

Alas, it really seemed like their son was set on returning home to be a farmer!

"Xiaofei, your dad just said to go ask Uncle Genfa if they need more people at their construction site. If not, consider going to the city to work. It's better than farming."

Liang Fei had just finished watering when his mother came over to him and spoke.

"Who says working is better than farming? Mom, you and Dad just relax, I will definitely make something of myself."

Liang Fei knew what his parents were worried about and reassured his mother softly, then turned and walked away.

"Xiaofei, where are you going?"

Mother Liang still wanted to persuade her son, but seeing that Liang Fei had left, she hurriedly tried to catch up.

"Mom, stay home with Dad. I'm just going to walk around the village," Liang Fei said without turning back, and he left the house.

Watching her son's departing figure, Mother Liang sighed, shook her head, and walked back inside.

Liang Fei strolled around the village. Relations among the villagers were very harmonious, and seeing Liang Fei return, they all nodded at him.

"This is terrible, something has happened at the village health clinic, everyone hurry and see!"

While chatting with some villagers, Liang Fei suddenly heard someone running over in a panic, shouting to everyone.

Upon hearing this news, everyone was startled, and Liang Fei was the first to sprint toward the village health clinic.

Liang Fei was so anxious because Fang Jieru, a village doctor working in the health clinic, was someone he had grown up with and a good friend.

Hengqiao Village Health Clinic, although affiliated with the Health Bureau, was really small in scale, hardly different from a barefoot doctor's clinic.

And Fang Jieru was the only staff member there.

Liang Fei had just run up to the entrance of the village health clinic when he saw many villagers crowding the doorway, and with a thud of concern, he hurriedly pushed through the crowd to get inside.

Once inside, he saw Master Wang from the eastern end of the village lying unconscious on the ground; a nurse was desperately trying to perform CPR on him, but Liang Fei suddenly shouted, "Wait!"

The nurse was none other than Fang Jieru, who, at that moment, was so anxious that her face turned deathly pale. When she turned around and saw Liang Fei coming, she didn't even know what to say.

"What happened?"

Liang Fei glanced at Master Wang who had already passed out and eagerly asked Fang Jieru.

"I don't know, Master Wang said he has been coughing badly these past few days and came to get some cough medicine. He was fine just a moment ago, then suddenly fainted!"

Fang Jieru, a nurse by training, worked at the village health clinic. Although she knew some basic medical knowledge, she could only handle simple minor illnesses and had never seen such a situation before.

She noticed that Master Wang's symptoms resembled a sudden heart attack and was just about to perform CPR when Liang Fei arrived.

"Jieru, don't panic just yet, I look at Master Wang's symptoms, and it doesn't look like any critical illness!"

Liang Fei used the Eyes of Insight to carefully examine Master Wang and discovered that there was a foreign object lodged in his throat. This object was stuck between his trachea, blocking the old man's airway and causing him to temporarily suffocate.

Indeed, suffocation was the main reason for Master Wang's sudden dizziness!

However, Liang Fei's cultivation was still shallow, and since the foreign object was lodged below the Adam's apple, he could only see a shadow but could not make out what it was clearly.

What exactly was stuck in Master Wang's throat, making it impossible for him to breathe?

As Liang Fei pondered for a moment, he suddenly remembered what Fang Jieru had just said, and it all clicked.

Master Wang came to the health clinic because he had been coughing recently. Since he had been coughing, there must be phlegm in his throat. It's not uncommon for elderly people to have phlegm stuck in their airway, unable to spit it out, leading to suffocation.

They must hurry to get Master Wang to expel the thick phlegm from his mouth, or else his life would be in jeopardy.

Realizing this, Liang Fei didn't stop to think further and urgently said to Fang Jieru, "Help me turn Master Wang's body to the side, I have a way!"

"Brother Afei, you..."

Although Fang Jieru knew that Liang Fei had studied traditional Chinese medicine in the city's clinic, she didn't think his medical skills were superior to hers. But now, with no solution of her own, she really didn't know of any better alternatives.

There was no time to delay. While Fang Jieru hesitated, Liang Fei had already turned Master Wang's body to the side, and stretching out his palm, he transmitted a burst of spiritual power into the old man's body, protecting his heart vessels. Then, all of a sudden, he forcefully slapped Master Wang's back.

"Brother Afei..."

Fang Jieru and the surrounding villagers, taken aback by the action, all let out a cry of shock.

Everyone was well aware that Master Wang was old and had fragile bones; how could he possibly withstand such a heavy slap from Liang Fei?

In reality, Liang Fei had considered this, and though the slap seemed harsh, all the force was enveloped in a gentle spiritual power that perfectly offset the impact's severity.

Moreover, the spiritual power he had previously channeled into the old man's body had already thoroughly protected his internal organs from any trauma.

Just as Liang Fei's slap connected, and amidst the cries of shock from the crowd, a miracle happened!

"Wow!"

The semi-conscious Master Wang was slapped so hard that he suddenly expelled a thick glob of phlegm, followed by a few coughs, and he gradually regained consciousness...
