Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Liang Fei's Untouchable Scale

At that moment, seeing Ning Jiuwei's concerned look, Liang Fei smiled and said, "Jiuwei, don't worry. It's nothing serious. I just can't stand that quack's smug face, and I don't want to work with him anymore."

"Where do you plan to go, then?"

Ning Jiuwei truly cared for Liang Fei, and hearing that he had lost his job, she couldn't help but worry about him.

"I haven't decided yet. Once I find a new job, I'll definitely let you know."

Feeling Ning Jiuwei's concern, Liang Fei was greatly comforted. However, to keep her from worrying, he still put on an indifferent demeanor and said with a smile.

"Mhm!"

Ning Jiuwei nodded lightly, then, seeing Liang Fei sitting there, she asked, "By the way, you haven't told me, what are you doing at the hotel?"

This hotel was a five-star one, a place for upscale consumption. Ning Jiuwei was there because her mother had been invited by a colleague, which is why she brought her along.

"I... a friend brought me here!" Liang Fei looked a bit awkward and took a while to respond.

"Oh!"

Ning Jiuwei nodded, looked around curiously, and asked, "Where is your friend then, why don't I see anyone?"

Liang Fei didn't know what President Yang was up to; he could only shake his head.

"What a friend brought him in. He's just some country bumpkin who's never seen the world and wanted to come to a big hotel to feast his eyes, that's all."

At this point, a sneering laugh was heard.

Liang Fei looked towards the source of the sound and saw a seemingly refined young man shooting him a disdainful glance.

This young man had a somewhat handsome appearance, but his eyes were extremely venomous, and he spoke with malice. It was apparent that he was a spoiled second-generation rich kid with little good upbringing.

No sooner had the rich second-generation appeared than he began mocking Liang Fei and then turned to Ning Jiuwei, saying, "Jiuwei, your parents are already seated. My mom asked me to call you over."

Liang Fei knew this young man; it was Chu Ziyu, Ning Jiuwei's classmate.

Chu Ziyu was incredibly arrogant, looking down on Liang Fei, whose family was far less wealthy than his own.

He was interested in Ning Jiuwei, but she didn't care for him at all. Instead, she held Liang Fei, the poor boy, in high regard. This made Chu Ziyu despise Liang Fei to the bone, constantly antagonizing him.

The mothers of Chu Ziyu and Ning Jiuwei were colleagues, and they were eagerly trying to pair their children together, often dining at the hotel to try and bring Chu Ziyu and Ning Jiuwei closer.

Ning Jiuwei didn't like Chu Ziyu at all and never wanted to attend, but her parents coerced her each time, and she joined the banquets reluctantly.

This time, just when she thought of slipping away, Chu Ziyu had caught up with her.

"You all go ahead and eat. I want to talk to Liang Fei a bit more," Ning Jiuwei said, not wanting to join the table and sat down next to Liang Fei.

Chu Ziyu already had a deep disdain for Liang Fei, considering him an unworthy country bumpkin, a yokel.

Now, seeing Liang Fei and Ning Jiuwei together so intimately, he felt even more jealous rage and said sarcastically, "Liang Fei, I heard your old man is seriously ill, probably not long for this world, right? I see this entire family is useless. Jiuwei, you should stop associating with poor trash like him."

Such mean words would anger anyone who heard them, let alone a hot-blooded youth like Liang Fei.

Immediately, Liang Fei's eyes widened with fury as he clenched his fists, took a step forward, and bellowed at Chu Ziyu, "Say that again if you dare, Chu Ziyu!"

His parents were Liang Fei's Achilles' heel. He could endure the cold looks from others, but he would never allow anyone to insult his parents!

Liang Fei's rage, although it had startled Chu Ziyu for an instant, didn't deter him from wanting to show off in front of Ning Jiuwei. In fact, he purposefully put on a provoking look and shrieked, "Liang Fei, listen up, I said your old man is trash, and so are you. Your whole family is useless trash!"

Smack!

Without any words of dispute, Liang Fei, unable to contain himself any longer, immediately splashed the cup full of hot water in his hand.

"Ah!"

Caught off-guard, Chu Ziyu was instantly splashed with boiling water on his face, scalding him and causing him to scream in agony.

However, Liang Fei was far from polite. His figure darted forward like lightning, landing a heavy punch squarely on Chu Ziyu's face.

Being a farmer's son and having cultivated the Ancient Martial Arts Technique, Liang Fei's ruthless blows left Chu Ziyu with no ability to fight back as he lay on the ground, clutching his nose and mouth, howling like a slaughtered pig.

"Say it again if you dare! Say it!"

Liang Fei didn't stop just because the other had fallen. He lifted his leg and gave Chu Ziyu two more kicks, bellowing loudly.

Usually pampered and coddled with a delicate constitution, Chu Ziyu was already beaten to a point where he could only scream like a banshee. How could he dare to speak again?

"Stop hitting him, Liang Fei, please stop!"

The incident happened so quickly that Ning Jiuwei hadn't even had time to react before seeing Chu Ziyu knocked to the ground. She let out a terrified cry and hurried forward to stop Liang Fei.

Seeing that the commotion had escalated so greatly, the hotel staff couldn't just watch idly. A few security guards came forward and finally pulled Liang Fei away.

"Ziyu, what happened to you? Who did this to you?"

Right at that moment, Chu Ziyu's parents, who were upstairs in a private room, heard the commotion and quickly came out. Seeing that it was their own son who had been hit, they rushed down in a state of panic.

"Dad, it was him… he's the one who hit me!"

Chu Ziyu, who had been silent as if he were a pummeled grandchild, now pointed at Liang Fei and wailed loudly upon seeing his parents.

"Goddamn it, where did this bastard come from, daring to hit my son!"

Chu Yungang, Chu Ziyu's father, was a somewhat famous local businessman. Seeing his son beaten up like this, he was instantly enraged and yelled at a group of security guards who were standing there dumbstruck, "Each of you will get a hundred thousand, break this kid's leg. I'll take care of any trouble that comes from it."

The offer from Chu Yungang was indeed tempting, but the security guards had witnessed Liang Fei being brought in by President Yang, so they dared not offend President Yang.

"Did you not hear me? I told you to break this kid's legs, did you hear that?"

Chu Yungang, who was used to unquestioned obedience in his company, didn't expect that his commands would be ineffective here, and his roar thundered even louder.

"What happened here?"

Just as Chu Yungang and his wife were about to make a scene in the hotel, the manager of the lobby, out of breath, ran over.

The lobby manager had been busy in the back hall and wasn't aware of what had transpired here, but he recognized Chu Yungang and immediately asked with a smile, "So it's President Chu, what could have made President Chu so angry?"

"Why... are you blind?!"

Chu Yungang angrily pointed at his battered son, then at Liang Fei, and barked, "Manager Liao, this kid assaulted someone in your hotel, are you going to handle this or not?"

Manager Liao hadn't been present when President Yang introduced Liang Fei earlier, hence he did not recognize Liang Fei.

Seeing the situation, he thought he had an opportunity to brown-nose Chu Yungang, and immediately glared at the security guards, barking, "What are you standing around for, didn't you hear what President Chu said? Hurry up and take him away!"
