The smell of manure seasoned the air with a hint of freshly disturbed dirt. The earsplitting noise of animals and people clamored the area. Diomede and the others walked tightly close together, Kira felt the joy of the people. But the feeling was somewhat strange to her, the mundane daily routines of simple folk. She couldn't fully understand how people were able to live their lives with their guards down. Have moments of full ignorance, her people spend every day of their lives ready for any attack that may come. May it be from another clan of Boarkar, or the undead slipping through the border. She had seen so much in her travel, the differences between the many races and countries. Kira felt a hand upon her shoulder, Francisco gently squeezed with reassurance. Kira welcomed the touch and placed her hand over his, "Thank you Francisco I am alright." Francisco smiled, "I could tell you were having some difficulty with the crowd." Kira nodded, "The crowd is a bit much but the emotions are mostly positive, it's just a large amount." Francisco looked around them as they continued walking, "Even for someone like myself who enjoys a large crowd, this is a lot of people." "I can only imagine how you feel at this moment." Francisco felt a tug on his side, he turned and was met with a small child staring back at him. Her piercing blue eyes cut through the dirt that covered her face. She smiled big revealing her small teeth, though she was missing her front right tooth. "Grandpa!" she shouted with joy. Francisco felt the chill of embarrassment strick at his spine. "GRANDPA GRANDPA!" She continued to shout. Francisco knelt and met her gaze, "Now now child I am sorry but I am not your grandpa." He said on the tail end of a chuckle. The rest of the group turned to the small voice's shout, Lily rolled her eyes as did Diomede, and they turned and continued walking, Kira stopped and felt the excitement and love exploding from the girls. Until it was consumed by fear and anger emeting from Clayton. Kira grabbed at Clayton's arm, "What is it? What's wrong?" In a voice drenched in anger Clayton replied, "I know her, she is from the Blue Stream." Kira snapped to the small child and peered into her feelings. Through the joy and love she could feel it was all false, tainted feeling created by dark magic. Francisco reached out to pick the girl up, "Now then let us find your mama." Kira lunged forward shouting, "NO DON'T FRANCISCO!" At his name, he turned and saw Kira and Clayton running toward him. Deep in his mind, he heard a voice, one that could be mistaken for metal scraping along a rock. "You aren't going to keep her safe, she is going to die just like Leona!" Francisco's heart felt as if it was stabbed with an iced knife. Francisco replied with one word, "Flamosa." In an instant the small girl burst into flame, twisted screams echoed out from Francisco's arms. The towns folk that were going about their lives stopped and watched in horror at the sight of a small child set ablaze. Kira stopped and fell to her knees, even though the creature wasn't human, she could feel the very emotions coming from it. The pain of the flames wrapped around her, and the chaotic panic ran through her head. Clayton dropped and wrapped his arms around Kira as if to shield her from both the sight and pain of the creature. Kire felt the tightness of Clayton's arms fall around her, they were nothing more than a slight comfort. Clayton watched on seeing the creature turn to ash and char, he watched as Francisco stood in the flames his nesfundur form revealed to the crowd. For a moment a flash of another struck his mind. "By he who is high!" Shouted someone from the crowd, "Did he just kill a little girl?!" another yelled, "He did I saw him!" Before long others began to shout a name, "His a Drugor!" "Yes and a flame one too!" "Kill him!" Clayton's eyes bounced around the crowd, they were preparing to attack Francisco. Kira began to stand Clayton removed his arms and looked down at Kira her form was revealed as well. Clayton's heart began to race and adrenaline pumped through him. "ENOUGH!" A deep voice cut through the crowd. A large man with a thick black beard walked from behind Kira and Clayton, Three others followed behind him all just as large and dressed in field cloths and smelled of livestock. "What's going on here?" The man shouted. From the crowd, someone yelled, "He killed a child, set her blaze with his dark powers!" The man snapped his attention to Francisco, "What's your purpose Nesfundur?" Francisco said nothing only stared at the pile of ash at his feet. Kira felt a cold feeling from the once lively and happy bard she had known to this point. "I asked you a question, What's your purpose here?" the man said in a more strict tone. "His purpose is known of you concerned!" a familiar voice called out from beyond the crowd. Diomede and Lily walked through the town folk, they pushed their way through. Kira and Clayton met them as they all reached Francisco. Diomede stood in the front of the group and the others turned their backs inward keeping their sights on the crowd. "A Boarkar is here in the village!" Someone from the crowd shouted. "They have come to kill us!" Yelled a man. Panic began to run rampant in the air. Kira could feel all the emotions washing over her like the heavy waves of the sea. "ENOUGH!" Shouted the man with the thick black bread. "Who are you people?" The man asked. "We are travelers on a mission of great importance." Diomede said, "For the protection of this mission I can't tell you any details." A silence washed over the crowd, whispers of "Boarkar" and "Drugor" danced among them. "And you expect that to be enough of a reason to not take you to the nearest Holy Knight Outpost?" Diomede maintained his gaze on the man. "And what of that pile of ash at your friend's feet? That part of your mission as well?" The man said as he walked closer and stood eye to eye with Diomede. "I can only assume that thing was an enemy from our recent encounter back in Blue Stream." Diomede stated. The man looked over each member of the group. Inspecting them, Kira felt no ill will toward them only the fear for others. "Come with me then." The man turned and began walking to the large barn. Diomede motioned for the others to follow behind, "Be alert." He said under his breath, the rest agreed in a united nod. Kira pulled on Francisco's arm, the touch startled him. He looked into her eyes and saw the worry that lay behind them. "Oh my, what have I done?" He said in a guilt stained voice. Kira pulled him close to her and guided him behind the group. As they walked the other three men began herding the crowd back and shouted, "Go about your day, it's over now folks the boss has it under control." Soon the commotion of the crowd returned and the air was full of sound again. Diomede and the others were stopped at a large door by a set of matching guardsmen, "Wait here, the bossman will come get you in a moment." Diomede placed his hand under his cloak and rested them on top of his axe heads that hung from his belt. Clayton rubbed the handle of his sword ready to pull it if need be. Kira felt he heaviness of the tension in her chest, and the regret from Francisco. Lily stood behind everyone ready to cast herself at what ever would attempt to attack them. "Why didn't you tell me?" Diomede asked with his back to the group. Francisco begrudently answered, "I did not want the world to know that part of me exsistend." Clayton and Kira with confused looks bounced their gazes between Diomede and Francisco. "I told you of the importance of who it was I was helping, for that I would excpect the same trust and consideration from you." Diomede said in a nutreal tone. Clayton spoke up, "What are you two talking about?" "Its about what I did." Francisco said. "What the killing that thing? That wasn't who it looked like, it was some kind of monster." Francisco placed his hand on Clayton's shoulder, "No my young friend, it was the flames I created." Clayton only replied with confustion. "What about them you have casted magic before?" Francisco shook his head, "That wasn't magic I did." "Then what was it?" Clayton asked. "It was elemental control, I have the ability to call from the realm of fire." Clayton and Kira both were shocked. "The Nesfundur are decendance of the Drugors, the ancient beings that lead the war against the Gultonks." Before Francisco could continue speaking a man stepped out form the door, "Alright follow me." He turned and lead the group into the barn. Diomede followed behind, Clayton and Kira standed beside Francisco as they walked in. Lily moved backward while scanning the area behind the. When she was satisfied she entered the barn with a spin of her body.
