Chereads / Isabela / Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1

THE BEGINNING

This is the day.

Now is the day to know the last mission I will undertake. I can't wait to finish that too soon and leave this country carrying the one million dollars I've saved my whole life.

I was surrounded by the view of the small apartment I rented. It's also been a week since I sold my things. On the corner are also the suitcases I will take to San Diego, and at any time I can leave after the mission.

I took the wine glass that was on the table. I slowly brought it into my mouth. I can't help but forget all the things here because my freedom is near. I'm close to leaving my exhausted life.

I have to leave this place where I sometimes witness my weaknesses in life. Only this room knows who I am.

"My one million dollars..."

"My husband..." I whispered.

"I can't wait to spend the money I've suffered."

I smelled the wine.

It's been an hour since I waited for a call from my disposable phone, and now I hear it ringing.

"Finally." There, I quickly answered the call.

"7 p.m. at X Bar. Room 101," I heard on the other line. The message is brief and concise, as always.

"Knowledge," I answered.

"It's your last mission, Orange and you are supposed to surrender all of your things and information. The boss wants to see you as well."

Before I spoke, the caller ended the call. I can't stop myself anymore. Nothing can stop me from leaving if I talk to the boss.

Meeting the boss is a sign of leaving everything that he lent to me, and that's what I want. I'm eager to meet him and surrender all of my information.

I'm finally free.

"Everyone is here, so we must start as planned. Transaction code: HJ90KHE."

The meeting has already begun. Everyone listened while I was reading what was written on the paper. I'm not good at listening. To be honest, I understand something better when I read it myself, but because one of the rules is to attend the meeting, I have to wait until it's done.

I'm living in a world where crime, blood, life, and death are like games. I do illegal things like sell guns, weapons, information, and innocent young girls to those dirty rich old men just to pay my debt. Cleaning up a mess is also something I'm capable of.

I owe a lot of money to the boss I haven't met. Even though I don't want to meet him, I can't defy the rules because, for him, rules are rules and punishment is punishment.

I don't have time to take care of the person who is responsible for this situation. The only thing I ask is to never see that person again.

I erased that person from my life. That person is exactly like a skull to me. Like poisonous living things that are necessary to kill or else we die.

"This is interesting! "I didn't notice that my voice was too loud to stop the meeting. They all look at me intently, as if hearing my voice in the midst of an important conversation is like a sin.

"Chill guys, this is my last mission, and I will be free! So let's do this as soon as possible and as cleanly as possible! "I smiled in front of them.

Even though I have been with them for 10 years, everyday feels like my first day at work. We don't make small talk or even say hi to each other. We are definitely like strangers, helping each other and then being gone.

After the meeting, I fixed myself before going upstairs and meeting the boss. I took a deep breath, and after calming myself, I decided to ask the head.

"The boss has visitors. You can come back later and wait for my call."

"No, it's okay; I can wait here."

I prefer to wait outside rather than entertain someone else. I can't do anything else while thinking I'm close to seeing the boss. I prefer to stand and walk while waiting for the door to open and the guest to go.

"Orange, the boss summoned you inside." I took a glance at the man who showed up without any noise. He is definitely one of the bosses, snipers, assassins, protectors, whatever!

"Good evening, boss." I stopped when I noticed not only was he the person inside, but he had friends.

"You're fucked up! If you continue to fail, I will kill you myself! "

"Come on! She might hear you. Her freedom depends on this transaction. She will be free after the successful transaction! Right, Orange?"

There was growing up in my mind, and I couldn't believe what I heard.

I thought that whether I failed or not, I would be free.

What kind of transaction is my mission, and is it equivalent to my freedom?

"Well, if this mission is the way for me to leave, then I will do my best to succeed."

I didn't hear a single noise. There, I began to stumble and tremble.

"Tsk! I have never seen anyone that is as determined as you. Well, good luck, Miss Orange! Let's see." I took a glance at the man sitting on the couch, who was probably a visitor.

I don't know why he was involved in the mission or why he visited the boss to make sure it went well.

"I've been waiting a long time for this opportunity, so why would I let a mission ruin it? I never failed. Mister..." I stood up to him and waited for him to introduce himself.

"I will finish this mission as soon as possible, as cleanly as possible."

"You can join us here, Orange. Consider this my farewell to your new journey. I heard you already have one million US dollars, and you're ready to go anytime and anywhere," my boss said.

They are my boss, and a low-profile person like me is not supposed to be having even a small talk with them.

"Well, I think you heard it right, boss." Shortly I replied, and there I noticed the eyes that were still looking at me.

"Can I ask you a question?" the visitor asked, and I raised a whisper.

"Me?"

"Yes, he's talking to you. You need to answer him, or else it will be the end of you, Miss Orange," my boss said.

I laughed, and then I flipped my hair to give him a more charismatic angle.

"Since it will be the end of me if I do not answer your question, then don't mind asking. You're here with my boss' office, so definitely you're also my boss at this moment," I said.

I waited for anything he would say, but I didn't hear him ask. There, I lost my quiet laugh again.

Is this guy serious?

"I'm going to leave. Wait for me here, Miss Orange. You can entertain each other."

We were both left inside, and until now, I've been waiting for him to ask.

"Well, I think, boss, you lost your question."

"Are you free tonight? I can double your dollars." I stopped from leaving when I heard what he said, and there my shoulder fell and I sat down again.

I don't know what to say next, and I suddenly remember what my boss said. I can't help but answer this bastard.

"I'm sorry, but I'm married," I replied once I regained my sanity.

"Married to your dollars?"

"What?"

"Don't deny it I know women who receive regularly fuck and women who do not even try to touch themselves. I can say you're all alone," he said.

I almost chose to be shallow on this sofa instead of continuing this unreasonable conversation.

Who does he think he's supposed to be?

"So you're saying you are an expert in women? I'm wondering how many women you have sex for you to become that expert?"

I raised my eyes when I saw him standing. My chest started to shrink, and at this time I didn't know what to do.

I must leave!

I was about to leave when I saw that he was already in front of me.

Shit!

"I'm. a. busy. person. I rarely give a fuck. I sleep only for those women who are deserving of my company," he said one by one to my face with his whispering skills that put my body and soul under his control. I want to respond or kick him in the balls, but I can't.

I think he is hypnotizing me.

"Do you want to know how expert I am?" he asked, and then he spread my legs using only one leg.

I'm fucked up! I couldn't even move in front of him.

"What is your name, Orange? I don't like calling you with your code; I want to know your real name. Say. it," he said, wearing a calm voice.
