Chereads / Turrim's Twin Gods / Chapter 2 - 2: System

Chapter 2 - 2: System

(PLEASE GIVE WRITING FEEDBACK SO I CAN SLOWLY IMPROVE MY WORK AS THIS BOOK GOES ON. THANKS!)

Gredlock? Plane? Tower? Everything that came out of that Administrators mouth made no sense. Even if I've read "shitty" web novels ever since I got out of that hellhole, those 3 things barely made any sense. Those web novels enveloped me with a lot of mixed feelings toward the current situation.

The first was a sense of hope. What if I can become a main character? Become all powerful? Gain a better life for me and Kale, better than anything we could have had on Earth?

The second was a sense of… uncomfortableness? Even if I do gain power like that, unlike Kale, I hate attention. The mere thought of people judging and scrutinizing your every move based on an event you caused or something you did doesn't sit well with me. Adding to the fact that people are always up your ass somehow, sticking their nose where they shouldn't, causing problems down the line.

The third was hate and loathing. If there are heros and people with this kind of power in the world, why didn't you save me? While I was suffering inside that hell, where were you? Saving others? Or were you messing around?

Soon, a voice pierced through my thoughts like a spear.

[But~ I'm too lazy to explain everything to you, so I'm going to force it into your minds! Kekeke]

The administrator let a twisted and sick grin slip as he snapped his fingers.

Suddenly, my mind felt like it had split into halves and millions of needles were slowly stabbing in and out of my brain, torturing me to no end. A ton of information had just flowed into my head, the needles making sure to sear the memory into my mind to never forget it.

I am currently in a ginormous tower at the very middle of the universe called Turrim, and like all structures, the universe uses this tower to stay standing. Like a pillar would keep an overhang from falling down on a luxurious villa, the universe uses the tower for stability, to keep law and order, and to prevent the universe from quite literally shattering.

There isn't just one tower, there are 9 of them, including Turrim. Sadly, there was no other information about the other towers.

I am on the first plane, called Gredlock. The tower is made up of 100 planes. These planes are insanely big and dangerous. Our old world, Earth, was a small world. Similar to how a grain of sand is to the sun. The goal is to climb the tower, become stronger and rule the throne at the top, becoming a god if you ruled the throne for a certain amount of time and have significant achievements. Each plane has a condition to be cleared, like a videogame, to move up to the next plane.

Apparently, Earth was evolving as a world into a realm. Thus, its intelligent inhabitants are thrown into a trial by the universe itself, using the towers. Any being from that world that becomes a god, will become a god of the realm their world has transformed into, gaining significantly more power and influence with the prestige of the realm.

Gods, all powerful beings born with the universe, and very little ascending from the tower, watch the players in the tower for entertainment. They can help you, but also bring your downfall.

That's when I realized, this is all a death game. Just a mosh pit of death meant to be used for someone's entertainment. It's sad but it's similar to how Me and Kale grew up.

The final piece of information caught my attention… I've heard the word countless times. System

Just like in the novels I read, there are classes, and classes are awakened at level 10. There are attribute points and everything. Though, unlike everything I've read or heard, classes aren't worked for. All classes are Unique, and are based on your personality, your life experiences, and just luck in general. Basically, it's a gamble. But this gamble can't be avoided.

As the torture stopped, I realized i was curled up on the ground, sweat soaking my clothes and out of breath. Before I could do anything I heard a familiar voice.

"FUCK YOU, YOU TINY PRICK. YOU DIDN'T SAY IT WAS GOING TO HURT THAT MUCH!" My head whipped in worry to the speaker, Kale. The administrator killed all of the people just for thinking it was a movie prop. I looked around trying to find the evil little jester but it was nowhere to be seen.

Lucky..

"...I'm going to kill that clown." muttered Kale. Everyone around us recovered their mental state, just enough to stand and think rationally though.

'Shit… my family.'

'I wanna go home!'

'Im calling the police!'

Cries of worry and fear started arriving at my ears. Suddenly, an old man, short but fit, similar to a dwarf in fantasy movies came out. He had the aura of a leader, making you feel like you can rely on him at any given moment.

He began consoling everyone, leading them to have a sense of trust in him. He slowly rallied them into 2 groups. One are the people who can work with a clear mind, and the other are the people with muddle headed and panicking.

He then separated himself from the group of around 80 people and glanced at me and Kale, the only ones now isolated. Slowly walking over to greet them.

"Hey kid, I'm Gamel" the dwarf dude reached his hand out, seemingly wanting a handshake.

"Cain." I stated, reciprocating the handshake, somewhat hesitantly.

"You guys seem to have a strong mentality, being the first ones up and all. You're not even in a state of panick. Hell, your friend was just cussing out the administrator."

I gave him a wry smile before signaling him to continue.

"We should stick together. Boost the chance of survival for us all." Gamel started slowly, in his raspy voice that had 'I've smoked cigarettes my whole life' plastered all over it.

"You guys will be strong in the future, I can feel it. Are you willing to establish a hierarchy and community among the people with me?"

"This…" I was hesitant. On one hand, we've been used our entire lives for others benefit, and as this is on a clean slate, I don't want to fuck it up. On the other hand, this place is dangerous and strength in number would greatly boost survivability.

"I don't mean this in a provoking tone, I assure you, but what makes you feel that you have the qualifications to lead multiple mentally restricted people to survival?" I questioned.

Kale butted in, "What makes you think we'll submit to you."

The man donned a solemn look as he said, "Well, I cant force you. Just be careful out there". He then walked away, toward the about 80 others, while waving us goodbye.

He seems to want to establish a hierarchy. He's smart, he understood the situation right away and is trying to make his survivability rate skyrocket. Everything remains the same though.

We will go alone, as we always have. Us against the world. We can't trust anyone except each other. How it's always been.

As a piercing howl sounded in the distance, we all whipped our heads to face 8 wolves. Not just normal wolves, these wolves were the size of a school bus! I used the information the administrator gave me to inspect the wolf.
